Maureen and Robbie were super hosts! The chalet met all our expectations and the personal touches made us feel right at home. Easy access from the road and a parking space right outside the door were very nice. The chalet was close to downtown and it was easy to walk to all the shops. We couldn't have asked for a better Up Helly Aa experience!

We visited Lerwick in January 25 for the UpHellya celebrations and enjoyed the most special of weeks staying at Seawinds. Storm Eowan delayed our crossing by a day and our Host Ruth was so helpful staying in contact & offering good travel tips for the ferry that we arrived to a nice warm Shetland welcome! She was also a great help sending us little pointers with what was on during the UpHellya festivities. Seawinds has a wonderful quiet, secluded feel despite being so close to the town centre. It has been beautifully restored, is full of character and is comfortable and cosy. On sunnier days it was a joy to watch the colours of the sea & sky in constant change out of the front windows. On the more wintry January days it was the perfect haven to coorie-in after a day outdoors, sitting in front of the stove and listening to the sound of rain, wind and waves rolling up onto Bain’s Beach. We weren’t in any hurry to leave!

Robert and Ann were fabulous hosts without being intrusive. They leave you alone but are there if you need anything. The flat is fabulously located near all the amenities of Lerwick with easy on street parking and, though compact, is cosy and has everything you could need. We whipped up some fantastic meals in the little kitchen.

Great flat close to everything. Nice kitchen and lounge room . Only negative lounge door was hard to open from the inside and pillows lumpy bed was comfy though
