Vacation rentals with lake access in Lapland

Had a great stay at Matti's place! The place was just as described with a well stocked kitchen and everything we needed. Well suited for active holidays with a washing machine and a drying cabinet.

Jukka & Heidi were wonderful hosts. We flew from Australia and they were kind enough to buy us basic groceries so we could have a cup of tea and a sandwich on arrival. The house was everything we wanted, everything was in great working order and clean. We went in December and the house had a magical Christmas feel to it that we all loved. The spa and sauna were simply magical. Sitting in 38deg water whilst it’s snowing….amazing. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants something a little bit out of town and quiet. It was easy to get taxis into town and whilst expensive (everything is in Finland ) they were punctual. Probably the nicest place I have stayed in with Air BnB.

This place is a true gem. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids ages 11, 10 and 7. We all absolutely loved it. The location is private and beautiful, set on a lake. Communication with Kari was flawless. When we arrived the cottage was warm and inviting, it matched the description and photos and we couldn't believe how well fitted out it was, he thought of everything. It was spotlessy clean and cosy. The kids had a great time playing in the yard, by the lake, and on the sleds. There is a beautiful sauna off the bathroom. We enjoyed roasted marshmallows and hot chocolate by the fire pit. Location is remote and picturesque and feels homely and safe. Would definitely need a car to access it, it's so worth it, being so quiet yet less than 15 mins to Rovaniemi and all attractions. Would highly recommend to everybody

Had the most magical stay at Mailas beautiful home. It’s the perfect space for large families to spend quality time together whilst also being so close to all the attractions in Rovanemi and airport. We loved the marshmallow toasting hut that they have, sledges, smart TV and speakers making it a very fun and Christmassy stay! We also got to see Nordic Hares hopping through the garden🎄🎅🏼 Thanks again ☃️

Our family of 4 stayed for 3 nights. Honestly didn’t want to leave, very rural, right next to the river and the place is massive, so much room for the kids to run around and play. There are reindeer wandering around on the nearby roads, woods and fields. Absolutely loved this place and the hosts were great.

Our stay at the cottage in Ruka was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene surroundings and the cozy atmosphere of the cottage. Nestled amidst snowy forests, the location is ideal for those seeking both tranquility and adventure. The cottage itself was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities while maintaining a charming rustic feel. The kitchen was fully stocked, making it easy to prepare meals, and the sauna was a true highlight—nothing beats unwinding there after a cold day outdoors. The proximity to Ruka’s ski slopes and hiking trails was incredibly convenient, yet the cottage felt wonderfully private. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape in a stunning location with top-notch comfort, this Ruka cottage is the place to be! Highly recommended!

Julius was very welcoming and responsive Indeed he recommended ubers/bolt as well as apps to order food in view of our late arrival Check-in is self check-in although Julius came to see us very kindly to give us a warm welcome! In addition the bed is very large and very very comfortable! The bed linen is of good quality The bathroom was very clean! finally the kitchen was great and in surprise we had small chocolates as well as Christmas decorations! the listing is located in a very quiet and residential neighborhood We would highly recommend this host and will be happy to go back!!

We had a great time at Nicholas' apartment. The apartment is perfectly equipped, comfortable and very clean. It has everything you need and the real plus: the private sauna! The residence is very quiet. The listing is well placed. The center of Rovaniemi is 20min walk. Nicholas is a very accommodating and available host!

Enjoyed our stay with our 2 young children who absolutely loved the apartment, especially the climbing wall and rings in their room. A lovely relaxing place to come back to after a busy day in the Santa Park and Santa Claus Village. The scenery and surrounding lake was stunning, especially in the snow. Anna was great host always on hand to answer any questions on the run up to our stay and during. Anna gave lots of practical advice and really helped us arrange our time and travel arrangements well. I really couldn’t recommend her enough. Thank you Anna!

Very well equipped and spacious. Jaakko was very quick responding to questions and the sauna is definitely a plus.

I had a wonderful time! Petteri is very kind and his love for the auroras makes the experience even more special. He shows his guests around the area to find the best viewing spots. I would encourage everyone else to stay here!

Awesome clean apartment, perfectly located, close to everything, easy to walk to the center and all restaurants. Great skating rink and sliding hill with free sleds to use and skates to rent. The hosts were super kind, responsive and gave nice tips for the town and some treats to eat. Really an awesome experience! Highly recommended. Kiitos!

We can not recommend Katja's place enough. If you are visiting Finland, and want the best and most authentic experience, this is the place. Katja and her family were terrific hosts! They are friendly and warm and will go out of their way to ensure an enjoyable stay! Plus, the home cooking is incredible! They even made my birthday special with a cake! The little cottage is so cosy and picturesque! It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The other facilities are great, outdoor areas for making fires and of course, our favourite, the sauna. We will miss taking the traditional Finnish Sauna each night! We would strongly recommend booking as many experiences with Katja as possible! Even though we didn't have much snow, Katja adjusted our experience to suit. We really enjoyed our day exploring the Lapland Wilderness. Then we will never forget the ice plunge that Katja organised with the help of her Dad. So many special memories!

We spent a week in the beautiful house in early December 2024 and would do it again at any time. There was nothing missing in the property itself. The kitchen was super equipped, there were plenty of firewood and an ice drill to be able to fish for ice cream was also available. The house was neat and due to the good description of the hostess, any service, e.g. the sauna, was easy and understandable. The sauna could be adjusted to your own needs and went perfectly. The location and surroundings were also a dream. In the middle of the forest, private to themselves. There were no closer neighbors, so you could enjoy the silence of nature. Also located just a few kilometers from the national park. Francine was an excellent host. She was always quick and friendly to questions. Before arrival, we received all the important information about the house, the surroundings, activities, etc. Thank you Francine for everything!

Cozy cottage in the midst of nature. Dogs loved it too. Great location and lots of different hiking spots nearby. Definitely will be back!

A cottage at the end of the world that instantly gave us a change of scenery. Great calm, no one around. The frozen lake for strolling and breathtaking wilderness. The dwelling is very well equipped, inside and outside. Our host was lovely, waited for us while it was late at night and welcomed us with great attention. We requested a late checkout that was no problem and at no extra charge 🙏 Thanks Keijo ❤️

Tainas and Taistos lovely little place is an amazing survival experience. We really enjoyed our retreat-like silent and peacefull visit. The cottages are small but if You are two people or even alone if You dare, outside and nature is the thing here. When the entertainment, buzyness, internet and restlessness is taken off your life for a while, You can deeply appriciate the silence and the nature and our origins once more.

Nice old cozy house with a functional morser kitchen! Location was perfect, away from the city lights. Even though it was next to the main highway, it was still dark enough to see the northern lights (right at the porch!) WiFi was a miss and we missed on enjoying the indoor/outdoor wood heated sauna! Would love to come back again!
