Beachfront vacation rentals in Lake Superior

Was a nice cabin. Bunkbeds were a little small for an average sized adult. The hill to and from the lake was rough for those with health issues but we all survived. The beach area was beautiful but the lake needed raking to remove shells and weeds; luckily we brought water shoes “just in case”. Overall, we were all happy with the accommodations!

We had a great stay, our second in two years. We love the feeling of being out in nature and the sense of privacy. This year our “neighbors” were two bald eagles we saw on the beach every morning while watching the sun rise over Lake Michigan. Some practical things to consider: the nearest grocery store is Jack’s in Manistique. Best to stop there before you arrive, it’s more than a short drive. And, take them seriously when they tell you to arrive during daylight! I wouldn’t want my first drive down the single-track access lane to be in the dark! If I were planning to stay there in the winter, I would check with the management company first to make sure my vehicle was up to it. When we arrived we found the EV charger not working, but we contacted the management company and they worked hard to make it right in less than 24 hours, even though it was a weekend.

This place was homey and comforable. The view of the water was breathtaking!!!

Staying here was great! The host had a lovely gift bag waiting for us upon arrival and the home was so beautiful. 10/10 would recommend!

We had such a great time staying at Ken’s place! The only thing that would have made this trip better is if the skies were clear during the days we stayed so we could have fully enjoyed the amazing view of the sunset and stars that the property offers! Our dogs loved staying here as well and they had lots of room to run around and play freely. Our time here was so peaceful and such a nice getaway and we can’t wait to come back!

It was exactly what we need for a romantic bday weekend away! And Herbster and surrounding areas are great! Best food and service ever at The Cranberry on Superior! Cant wait to go back!

This is the only house I have ever gone back to and I've been there 4 times. You will not find a winter waterfront view like this anywhere else. The home is spacious, quiet, and well kept.

The check-in process was very easy, clear instructions from host, house was as described and spotless. We also loved the place, felt very cozy, accessible to lots of great places to hang out and in a great location.

Christina and Jeremiah are super responsive and have everything you need for a fantastic visit to the North Shore! The fireplace was perfect for warming a beautiful winter day watching the big waves up close. They have great coffee supplies as well as tea and hot chocolate waiting for you. They also had a stocked closet with hiking poles and stuff you might have forgotten for your outdoor fun. Kitchen is fully stocked as well. Lots of pillows and a comfy bed. Definitely would stay again. Thank you!

Breathtaking views for a lovely winter getaway! Plentiful surroundings for snowshoeing along the lake, through the wooded yard and enjoying deer sightings. Hugh was always responsive and friendly.

Steven’s house was great for a weekend away. So peaceful. Enjoyed the local atmosphere and scenic views.

Great space if you need three bedrooms. The view of the lake from the living room was excellent and it was a very comfortable home base for a visit to the North Shore / Duluth.

Can't say enough good things about our stay and hosts. The only thing that would prevent me from coming back is buying a place of my own in the same complex! Roger and Mary were proactive and responsive from pre-booking through our stay. I am a clean freak, to say the least, and found the condo in great shape. We took full advantage of the kitchen and every utensil, plate, and cookware I took out was perfectly clean. We had two families stay - 4 adults and 4 kids - and everyone was comfortable with plenty of space. Roger and Mary saw we were bringing real little ones, and left out pristinely clean crib and pack & play, sheets included. We stayed during winter, and enjoyed all that was nearby! Nubs Nob just 10 minutes drive. We got to XC Ski right out the condo door into the neighboring nature preserve trails and along Lake Michigan. The condo complex indoor pool was great afternoon entertainment. Everything matched the description, so it was easy to plan. Thank you!

We had a great week-long winter outing. The unit is right across from the ski resort, but quiet and peaceful with views overlooking the frozen lake. We were able to take long (snowshoe) walks with our dog on the Mesabi trail, plus the apartment was well equipped with everything we needed to make meals.

Even in March, you can’t beat walking through the back yard dunes straight onto the Lake Superior beach. The house has great space and splits well for 2 families to each have some of their own space. Tons of toys and games for the kiddos too!

Great place for a snowmobile trip! Trail is only 1.5 miles down the road. The view of superior was fantastic and the house was a comfortable place to hang out when we weren't riding.

Three of us had a wonderful wintery stay in early February. The house was great--cozy and comfortable with an incredibly well stocked kitchen and an epic bathtub! We took advantage of the gorgeous private sauna every single day and even had a bonfire one night at dust. The proximity to Lake Superior is another plus--as soon as you step outside the house you can hear the waves from the shore! Deidra was a wonderful host. She provided so many recommendations for the North Shore and even offered an early check in since the house was not occupied the night before our arrival. The snacks, welcome note and local gifts (wine, cider, maple syrup and pancake mix) made us feel welcome and appreciated. We hope to stay again in the summer when we can spend even more time outside enjoying the lake.

The home is older and quirky but has everything you need and lots of space for a family. The property is beautiful and the private beach was amazing. We enjoyed reading the book about the homes history. We made day trips to the Porkies and Copper Harbor. I cannot say enough about the private beach. Go to the UP, book this place, you will not regret it.

Trestin was an outstanding host. He was knowledgeable about the activity our vacation was built around, and gave us perfect tips for timing, parking, and planning. When our vacation took an unexpected and unfortunate turn right at the end, he extended his hand to offer help was able to assist us in figuring out what needed to be done. We would reserve with him again upon our next visit.

We loved staying at Kyle’s place! The host was responsive and provided clear instructions and suggestions. The house was very clean and spacious, and had everything we needed. There was plenty of comfortable seating - loved the porch and outdoor space. The mattress was super comfortable, which is important to my old bones after a day of hiking/exploring! We were only two people, but you could easily accommodate a large family or group and have plenty of room! We loved the remote waterfront location, it was so quiet and peaceful. We explored the Baraga County area (recommend the Lake and County tour), easily made day trips east to the Michigamme area and west to the Keweenaw and to Houghton for a MTU football game. We even got to see the Northern Lights right from the yard! It was a great time and we are already talking about coming back!

We had a great time celebrating an 80th birthday party at Eileen's home. This property is right on the water, which is very appealing. The Bay is peaceful and serene. We would bring our kayaks along if we stay again (boat landing near by). The steps to get to the water were a bit difficult for our older family members to navigate. We loved the flat greenspace for playing outdoor games. Handy to have on site laundry and open concept kitchen/ dining/ living room. The loft area is open to the kitchen, so not the best area for light sleepers or late rizers:) Loved our time there, it's a special place!!
