Lovely place, quiet, peaceful cove. House has everything. The screened decks are stellar for enjoying the natural beauty. Bird watchers try the 3rd level, no screen and in the treetops. Very dog friendly property. Kind and attentive host. We had a great time and hope to come back.

We needed a family friendly place to stay for the Tunnel Hill 100 race in Vienna. This was a great fit for the family and was a very easy drive to the race start/finish.

If I could give it more the 5 stars, I would! Beautiful, cozy home. Fully stocked kitchen, games, movies, etc. Sheri was so helpful and made us feel appreciated and accommodated. Will definitely be back!

My wife, friends, and I were in the area for the Tunnel Hill 100. The location of the house was great. Only about 25 minutes from Vienna City Park where the race started. There was plenty of room for all of us. The home was exceptionally clean, and the views of the lake were amazing. Megan was a great host. She quickly answered all of the questions I had and kept in good touch with us. I am considering returning to the race next year. Catching Rays is definitely a place I would return to.

This house is super cute, has modern updates and the surroundings are peaceful. Our family of five felt right at home during our stay. We will definitely try to come back in the future.

This location comfortably housed ten people and offered plenty of amenities and room for activities. Very accommodating of my family. Tina was extremely helpful throughout the process of booking this location and checking in. I highly recommend this location. Thank you, Tina!

The property was everything we wanted and expected from the host's listing. Beautiful and secure boat dock for keeping our boat secure while enjoying the many amenities offered by the owner (multiple outdoor cooking opportunities and complete indoor kitchen with many extras)! Host was very gracious and quick to respond with any question I asked. The property was beautiful and the host was great! Would definitely recommend a stay here at Lake of Egypt!

This a beautiful property. We spent a lovely weekend here and enjoyed the setting. It was great for three couples. We used the main house and one of the cabins. We enjoyed eating breakfast outside and sitting by the fire at night. Thanks for a great weekend

It was a great stay! Close to a beautiful parks and trails! Easy to get to and from. Great place for recharging our batteries! Very good fireplace and a nice small stream by the cabin!

we stayed here to look at houses in the area. the house was awesome, beautiful views of the lake. host was very responsive and even gave us suggestions for our house hunt. very flexible on our check out time. I would highly recommend!!

One of the cleanest airbnbs I have stayed in! The sheets and bedding were not only super comfortable but smelled clean and fresh too. The house was comfortable, cozy and decorated cute. The host was great with flexibility and she was super responsive. Overall, it was a great stay and we can’t wait to book again!

We stayed over the Christmas holiday to be close to family in Carbondale. The Red Cottage and Cabin on the Hill were the perfect setting. Quietly tucked away, so we felt we had our own private space. But 15 minutes away from family and amenities in town. The cottage was precious and we loved waking to the morning sounds of the waking farm. The turkeys and peacocks were favorites. It rained the whole time, so we didn’t get a chance to tour the farm- we’ll do that next time! The cottage was just the right size, and we spent a lazy, rainy morning in the hot tub listening to the rain on the tin-covered patio. Truly peaceful. We plan to make The Cabin on the Hill our regular stop when we’re in Carbondale!

We enjoyed our stay here! It was really clean, spacious and a convenient location. Instructions were very clear and we loved the kitchen. The first night, we prepared a nice meal and appreciated how large the kitchen space was. The evenings were beautiful and cool so we enjoyed the outdoor patio swing under the lights...seeing the Autumn colors were really beautiful here. We also relaxed in the nice livingroom and were very comfortable during our stay. I'd definitely recommend this place!

Such a cozy stay!! The hosts are amazing and were so helpful with our trip! The space was amazing and we loved relaxing on the porch watching the deer . we will definitely be back!!
