.:The Beach Hive:. Downtown Encinitas

ChrisRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The Bee Hive was so cute. We had so much fun. We love Encinitas. We parked our full-size suv in the designated parking spot and didn’t use it the whole time we were there. We walked to the beach, we walked to get coffee in the mornings, we walked to shops and we even did d 2 different escape roomed on 2 different days. We can’t wait to go back!

Staycation Beach Family Home Great Indoor Outdoor

SaraRating, 5 stars6 months ago
This is such a beautiful home, I already want to go back! The walk to the beach was easy and so close. The privacy of the outdoor seating area was really nice. Kitchen was clean and spotless and the beds were incredibly comfortable! The water pressure in the showers wasn’t very strong, but everything else was perfect. Would absolutely stay again! Oh, and the hosts were very responsive throughout the stay when I had any questions!

#3, Ocean Front Studio by the Beach in Carlsbad

VickieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We loved being so close to the beach and so close to Carlsbad Village; once we parked our car we walked everywhere. So nice to have designated parking, too. The place was very nice, queen bed super comfortable. The pullout bed was not as comfortable, but after layering the sofa seat cushions on the 2nd night it was much better. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was fully stocked, bedding and towels were high quality. We would definitely choose this unit again. We found it remarkably quiet despite being so close to everything. The team at Sea Breeze is VERY responsive, but even with that we had a couple of questions that never got answered. That did not impact our enjoyment. We walked to State Street and had an amazing breakfast at Wildland followed by some good boutique shopping, then ice cream at Handels; a great rooftop dinner during happy hour at Fresco, and the rest of the time we stayed right on our deck or on the beach at Sea Breeze. Can’t wait to do it again!

This home was beautiful! Plenty of space for the seven of us for our girls' trip. Helen was an excellent host. She was very responsive to any questions we had. The property was well-stocked with towels and linen, and had a washer and dryer in case you needed to do laundry. The backyard is beautiful. Extremely flexible check-in/check-out options. I would definitely stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barry’s place. It’s located in a peaceful neighborhood with easy access to many sites in San Diego. The house was very clean and well appointed. We enjoyed relaxing in the tranquil backyard - being welcomed by Barry’s sweet golden retriever, Dorry was a highlight. We will definitely return.

Carlos was a great host, replied promptly to our questions. The whole place was really clean when we arrived, and it was exactly how it was described on the pictures. Pet friendly without the massive restrictions as other rentals. Walking distance to Belmont Park, restaurants, bars and the beach. Great location and we will definitely book this place again when we come back.

Ocean Front Beach Townhouse with Balcony

AngelaRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Title: Great Value, but be Prepared for Noise I recently stayed at this Airbnb and had an overall positive experience. The location was fantastic—easy to find, and it was conveniently close to local attractions and restaurants. The host was responsive and friendly, making the check-in process smooth. The space itself was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. Considering the price compared to other options in the area, I felt it was a great value. However, one thing to note is that the property is in the flight path for San Diego airport. While this wasn’t an issue once I fell asleep, the noise from the planes, neighbors, and outdoor sounds made it a bit challenging to get to sleep on the first few nights. The walls seemed a bit thin, so I could hear quite a bit of outside noise. Overall, I'd recommend staying here, but be prepared for the noise—especially if you're a light sleeper. I’d suggest bringing earplugs to help with the no

1BR Condo, Private Patio, Fire-pit, Rooftop Patio!

HeidiRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Jesse was extremely proactive in reaching out to me to confirm my early arrival request. He was very clear with his directions and instructions and prompt to respond when I reached out to him. The unit was exactly as described and not only checked off all of the boxes that we had, but included some additional bonuses. Great value, right off the beach, first floor, washer and dryer included, with two parking spaces. That is pretty much unheard of in that area! Should I need accommodations in San Diego again, I will absolutely reach out to inquire if Jesse's place is available again.

Sunny Courtside Condo,Patio/Parking/S.MissionBeach

DanielRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We had such a great time staying at Susan’s place! The location seriously couldn’t be better—it’s like a 30-second walk to the Mission Beach boardwalk, which made it super easy to pop over to the beach whenever we wanted. There’s a ton to do nearby, but we also spent a lot of time in La Jolla, which was awesome. We got massages and checked out the La Jolla Cave—both totally worth it. The house was clean, quiet, and just felt really comfortable. We especially loved the patio—it was perfect for relaxing and having meals outside. Overall, just a really peaceful spot in a great location. Would definitely stay here again!

Your guide to la Jolla Shores Beach

All About La Jolla Shores Beach

You’d be excused for not knowing that the sparkling seaside village of La Jolla is actually part of booming San Diego because this magical enclave has long hovered above the fray. Perched on cliffs over seven miles of beach, La Jolla rose to prominence as a place to flee the urban hustle and bustle in the late 1800s, when vacationers cozied up in seaside cottages. Around the same time, artists claimed the village as their base, making it an arts magnet. A famous actor co-founded the still operational La Jolla Playhouse in 1947, and a children’s book author known for his rhymes and eccentric characters, moved here in 1948, writing in an office high above the coastline.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in la Jolla Shores Beach

Expect sunny, warm weather in the 70-degree Fahrenheit range almost year-round. However, due to La Jolla’s coastal location, it’s not unusual for a marine layer — gray morning clouds — to roll in, especially during May and June, and for nights to cool off, so pack layers. December through March bring the most rainfall, so plan ahead and pack an umbrella.

Top things to do in la Jolla Shores Beach

La Jolla Shores Beach

Pretty La Jolla Shores Beach lures surfers, kayakers, and ankle waders alike. While everything you could possibly desire is likely right here — there are restrooms, showers, barbecues, and even public bonfire pits — shops and restaurants are just a 10-minute walk away. Families will appreciate that the beach abuts grassy Kellogg Park, where kids can enjoy a playground near the Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier. Named for a major funder of the world-renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography, which calls La Jolla home, the pier is one of the largest research piers in the world, equipped with gear that tracks ocean conditions and plankton.

La Jolla Cove

This crescent of sandy beach, ringed by palm trees and sandstone cliffs, is home to a pool of calm ocean waters so clear that they draw admiring crowds of photographers and beachgoers — alongside ocean wildlife. The cove’s rich ecosystem is protected, so surfers and boogie boarders skirt its shores, but it is ideal for snorkeling. You’re likely to spot bright orange Garibaldi fish, rays, and even leopard sharks. (Don’t worry — these shy, small sharks pose almost no threat to humans.) Kayakers launch from these shores to explore nearby sea caves, too. If you want to get in on the fun, you can rent ocean-going gear from nearby outfitters.

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

This 1,500-acre natural reserve is home to miles of trails and named for the beautiful and endangered tree that grows here. The windswept Torrey pine is the rarest pine tree in the nation, and only grows here and on an island off the coast of Santa Barbara. This reserve features high cliffs, sandstone canyons, and a salt marsh refuge home to migrating waterfowl. In spring, wildflowers bloom, and in fall and winter, roly-poly quail zip around the grounds. Check ahead for a schedule of tours that depart from the visitor center, which is housed in a century-old pueblo-style building that was once a restaurant.
