Perfect cottage in the perfect location! Elsa and Thain were exceptional hosts!

We had a wonderful cosy stay here and found the accommodation very comfortable. We were traveling as a family, 2 adults and 2 kids (3 & 6) The kids absolutely loved the outdoor space and the many games to play with and enjoyed spotting and hearing the ptarmigans and other birds that came to visit the garden. The hot tub is a very relaxing place to enjoy the amazing views all around. We were lucky enough to see the Aurora on 2 nights which was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this beautiful accommodation to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing time with incredible views yet not too far from towns and other sightseeing opportunities. We hope to be back one day.

This Airbnb is incredible! It’s beautiful in and out and has a great soaker tub out back that fills up in under 10 mins. It has all the amenities you would need. Its location was perfect too. Very walkable to all of Reykjavík’s attractions, restaurants, bars etc. There was also always a parking spot right outside the door. Beds were comfortable and the house is very well maintained. Bjorn was very attentive and available anytime we needed him. Street noise was non existent. I would HIGHLY recommend this home and would 1000% stay here again! Thanks for an incredible stay Bjorn!

We had a lovely time staying here! GORGEOUS location and so peaceful. Felt right at home here, it was truly a beautiful stay.

The home was absolutely stunning! Took advantage of the hot tub almost every night during our stay. The location was about 50 minutes away from Reykjavík, making it extremely quiet and peaceful. Gudrun was always quick to respond and super helpful whenever we had questions. The only things that my family had some issues with were the sulphur smell from the water and the water pressure of the shower. The pressure got progressively worse that by the end of the trip there was barely any water coming out. Regardless this place was an amazing experience and made our trip to Iceland 10/10!

This place is warm and cozy and it’s a short drive to downtown. There’s a lot of space for 4 of us to hangout and the neighborhood is quiet and clean.

This is an exceptional property. The owner has entirely remade the house so the apartment has lovely views (enormous windows, lots of light) and yet is completely private. The sauna is in the back, and also has great views and yet is entirely private -- all on a very quiet street. The interior is actually much more spacious than the photos make it look: it's like luxury apartments and houses in Florida, for example -- leather couches, Louis X style furniture, a fabulous kitchen. A great choice for visiting the city.

The location is convenient, you can walk to the center in 15 minutes, there are two or three buses nearby, and the supermarket is opposite the building.The environment is very quiet, the view from the window is beautiful, and I had a pleasant week in Iceland with friends.The check-in guide given by the host is also very detailed.

Absolutely brilliant place! Wonderful hosts! Had the best time and felt so well taken care of! We made new friends in our hosts! So grateful for their space, time, and care! We can’t wait to come back and stay for longer!

This apartment is sublime - we loved it - so warm and cosy, so beautiful and calm - a wonderful place for a retreat (and I kind of wish I lived there!). Tactile bare wood floors, whitewashed timber walls, and calm warm light. Hafnaforthur itself is truly beautiful (& we recommend Brikk bakery!!!) and a great stepping off point for Reykjavik, the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon. We went in the winter, and were grateful for the strong radiators and the wonderful hot baths. Soley and her family live in the apartment below, and Soley was easy to reach and communicate with as well as sending lots of thoughtful suggestions for both practical things like groceries, and adventures like whale watching. Soley also provides a wonderful range of products from her own skincare range which smell incredible, and made our stay a really sensory experience. We greeted the display of her lotions in duty-free like an old friend, and I would have brought the whole lot home if I could have afforded them!

We loved Gunnsa’s beautiful home..so much better than even the pictures…it was cosy, artsy..the house had 3 bedroom downstairs with a bathroom, laundry room and a small living area. Upstairs had another bedroom, a huge kitchen which the we loved, a dining room and two lovely living areas! It was perfect for our group.

We had an absolutely perfect stay. Karl Davor told us several times that we just needed his things, so we were fine using, for example, spices, some flour, garbage bags, etc. We also had to use his hot tub at no extra cost, but of course you have to be aware that there is a smell of sulfur from the hot water, but Karl Davor has no influence on that. The beds were very comfortable and the house modern and nicely decorated. We were able to use the washer, dryer and dishwasher as well as Disney +. We had rented a car, so the distances to the sights were no problem. There is a small shop along with the gas station, where you can buy the essentials. The surroundings were a good fit for us. There are a lot of green areas/park with a playground. There is a very short distance to the beach, here you can find rocks and throws away. We didn't get to try the local swimming pool, but it's also within a short distance. We stayed here for 12 days and enjoyed every day the view of the mountain Esja.

Hakos left good instructions about his place and also the country, didn’t leave much of anything out about his air bnb. Place was clean and he was fast at responding when questions came up.

Helena was warm, friendly and extremely helpful before we arrived and her house was simply wonderful. Clean, tidy, plenty of space and every bit as welcoming as Helena. The house felt really authentic and was a perfect base from which to explore this amazing country. We felt very much at home during our stay and we loved looking after Freyja (the cat). Helena left clear instructions as to how to navigate the house as well as lovely ideas for excursions. She contacted us ahead of our visit to send us information and replied to any of our queries straight away. We loved our time in Iceland and amongst all of our highlights of places we visited, returning home to Helena's house each evening was absolutely one of them. A very beautiful home and we feel lucky to have found such a gorgeous place to stay. Tim and Claire xx
