Vacation rentals with beach access in Kópavogur

This was a great place to stay. Matthias and Rebekka are nice people, and the apartment looked just like the photos: modern, comfortable, clean, and quiet. Having a washer and dryer was a real bonus. It’s also a wonderful headquarters in Reykjavik … parking is right outside, it’s close to downtown, it’s near a great bakery, coffee shop, several burger shops and a convenience store. Plus, in one minute you can be on the main road out of the city to explore the many natural attractions surrounding Reykjavik. And as an added bonus it’s just a 4 – 5 minute stroll to one of the city’s great swimming pool/hot tub/sauna/steam room complexes. If it’s available, don’t hesitate to book their apartment. (PS … I found that parking in downtown Reykjavik was difficult …. not that many spaces and the parking “zones” were confusing to figure out. If you’re able to, just hop on one of the many electric scooters that are all around and you can be anywhere you want in Reykjavik in 5 minutes.)

We had a most wonderful and relaxing stay. The apartment was very comfortable, clean and very well supplied. It is very close (within 20 minutes drive) of the major attractions in the city and very close to many amenities! Being in walking distance of Sky Lagoon was wonderful. Anytime we head back to Reykjavík, we will check first to see if this is available!!

I loved the place. Spacious with a clean and comfortable design aesthetic. Well-stocked kitchen, including good knives, was a really nice surprise. It's a short walk to lots of great attractions, including public pools/bathhouses, which we went to every day. It was super easy to get groceries, even late in the evening, and good bakery and restaurant options nearby. Getting in could have been confusing but Egill was very proactive in reaching out with instructions and responding to my questions, so it went very smoothly.

We enjoyed our stay in Reykjavik. This airbnb was conveniently located, a 10-15 minute walk from downtown. There is plenty to do in the area and you can walk to any of Reykjaviks main attractions. We found it very easy to get into the unit when we arrived, the unit was very clean. The host was responsive to our requests and timely with fulfilling them. The amenities were in good condition and the bathroom was very nice. I would definitely book this airbnb again when we return to Iceland.

Great place to stay in the heart of Reykjavik! The apartment is very cozy and very clean, nothing was missing, we felt very comfortable. The location is great, we could walk to anything in town. Anytime again we would rent this great apartment, thanks for that!

Loved this AirBnB. Spacious apartment with very comfortable beds and living room furniture. Kitchen was well equipped. Very nice to have a washer / dryer. Great location, walking distance along the pond to downtown. Owners lived on top floor and were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had such a wonderful stay! The windows looking out on the surrounding area were our favorite part. We even saw the northern lights right from the living room on two different nights! The only thing I would note is that the stairs were very steep, which was slightly challenging with one of our family members.

We had a great stay at the apartment of Þórdís! The location was excellent for excursions with our rental car. The apartment is very bright and you have a great view on Kópavogur and the mountains. For us, the washer with dryer function was particularly useful. The new sofa is also very comfortable! The family is very friendly, we felt welcome there and would book the accommodation again.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Garden Cottage! Anthony & Yr were incredible hosts, very quick to respond if we had questions, friendly and gave lots of great local recommendations. We really enjoyed meeting them. The cottage is beautiful and the little details really made a big difference. We especially loved the heated bathroom floors which were so nice with it being cold out during our stay. Highly recommend the garden cottage, we would stay again! :)

Great location, a short drive from Selfoss and great spot for viewing northern lights. Host was extremely friendly and responsive. The home had everything you would need, very cosy and warm.

We traveled with an infant and since no one was using the place the day before, Hildur allowed us to come straight from our flight! It was so incredibly nice of them and my daughter appreciated the opportunity to catch up on some sleep. Overall, the place is beautiful, spacious, and had an incredible review. I’d recommend this AirBnb to anyone!

We stayed wishing to catch the Northern Lights and we were lucky enough to do so each night and be there for a huge solar storm. We ventured out the first night and after that realized we were able to stay comfy at our airbnb and see them both in the front yard and backyard. The house was spacious and our children 7 & 1 loved the books and toys available. We were offered a portable crib and high chair which were convenient. There were plenty of novels for adults and a variety of books on Iceland. There is a washer and large drying rack, dishwasher, and full kitchen which was wonderful since it is a serene spot you can relax and not run down the road 15 minutes for food or coffee. I enjoyed walking the road to the church and admiring the horses next door. The location is remote and going to parks or the city required an hour drive. Our host was gracious and extended our check out which was helpful. Thank you for your hospitality.

I could not have asked for a better place for my family to stay together. Everything was immaculate. It is exactly what was represented on the website. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us. I loved the siding door that separated the bedroom area from the rest of the house. I would recommend this place to anyone. Styrmir was kind, helpful, and always responsive and flexible. We had a wonderful visit to Iceland!

It was a neat accommodation that felt like a normal family home in Iceland. It was enough space for 4 adults and there were enough tools for cooking. I only stayed one night, but if it was possible, I wanted to stay an extra night.

Gudrun's house in Stokkseyri is really lovely, built in a traditional Icelandic style and with generous and well decorated interiors. Our stay there was really comfortable, great kitchen very well equipped, spacious living room and dining area, comfortable rooms and private parking just in front of the house. The village is super tiny but offers a great fish restaurant (expensive, but like all Iceland...) and a small shop with gas station, which is very convenient. The only downside is the view on the graveyard, it's a bit creepy but it is of course something beyond the great hosting of Gudrun. The location is practical to explore the south coast until Vik, further east becomes a bit too far, but for the main sights in the area is just perfect. The vicinity to Selfoss, which is the largest town in the area after Reykjavik is practical for shopping and some extra restaurant options. I definitely suggest it to everyone wanting a practical base to explore Iceland's south coast.

This was an incredible home! It was such a charming space that still had all of the modern comforts. The nature preserve that it sits on is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the grounds. The game barn and the private hot spring were highlights of the property and I have to say that this was our favorite of the four places that we stayed while visiting Iceland.

Andri's apartment is really cozy, spacious, and clean. Fully reflect the images shown. The area is quiet without noise. The price for the Icelandic standard is in the norm. The only defect is that to go downtown, however, you have to take the car.

Eythor’s home is beautiful! 🤩. Love the artwork and decorations. He was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and very quick to respond. The home is located 10 minute walk to Perlan Museum in a quiet area with free street parking. Highly recommend!

Pros- located within a block of restaurants and tour outfitters and looks out on the harbor. 1st floor which is good for my mobility issues but may be slightly noisy until the tourists settle down. Well stocked kitchen and condiments. The host was very friendly and informative both before and when we met. We arrived at 10:30 and he let us in while he finished the last cleaning details. Negative - the street number to the apartment building is not visible from the street. I knew from google maps it was on the corner, so we just poked around for a bit before finding it. Negative

Þóra was a great host, and her place was a really good choice for me throughout the week I stayed! She answered all my question immediately and made me feel comfortable. The place was reachable easily, cozy, clean, beautiful and literally has a soul! Recommend with all my pleasure, sure you'll not regret to choose here for your stay! :)

As a return guest to the beautiful country of Iceland this is the first time I’ve stayed on this end of the “main” street when visiting Reykjavik and it was perfect! Thor was wonderful to communicate with, really friendly, and very accommodating with my check in. I loved the view from the balcony off the living room and it was nice having covered parking. There’s TONS to do in the downtown area and all within walking distance, plus the particular little area the apartment is located was super quiet so getting peaceful sleep wasn’t an issue… thanks again for everything, Thor!!! Can’t wait to return!!

Great calm location close to downtown. Catherine is very responsive and friendly. Super cozy airbnb with a great selection of books to leaf through and comfortable beds. Recommended without hesitation.

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary and it was fabulous. The location was incredible. 40 minutes or so outside Reykjavik made it perfect to explore the area. The unit itself was spotless and very thoughtful with all the beautiful touches. After exploring Iceland during the day we would return to soak in the hot tub. We stayed at the unit for three days and we experienced the Northern Lights ALL three nights, right from the hot tub. We couldn’t believe it. It was AMAZING. We were incredibly lucky and this place will always have a special place in our hearts for the memories it created. When we return to Iceland (and we will) we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this beautiful Airbnb again. Don’t hesitate booking. You’ll be glad you did!

Unnur's place was wonderful, comfortable, beautiful and quiet. She is a gracious host. Her tips about restaurants and things to do in the area were terrific.
