Smoking friendly vacation rentals in Koggala Lake

After travelling around Sri Lanka for 2 months we wanted somewhere peaceful where we could relax and this was the perfect place. This is by far the quietest place we have stayed and the entire view from our terrace was greenery. The room was very clean and the entire building and grounds were very well looked after. The kitchen was handy as there is only really one restaurant within walking distance. If you don't cook your own meals there were options on Uber eats for delivery and plenty of other places just a short tuk tuk or bus ride away. The staff were very friendly and we got to see monitor lizards, monkeys, plenty of birds, a frog and a small snake in the garden area. If you want somewhere quiet with nature on your doorstep but still with western style accommodation this place is ideal.

We have stayed in around 180 Airbnbs and this is stand out one of the best! THE most fully equipped property we have ever come across, with all sorts of unexpected items such as mosquito repellent coils, filtered water, cooking oils and first aid kit! Eva and her manager, Tharush were amazingly friendly and accommodating. 5 star service and facilties to match! Can't recommend this place enough.

Nalaka is definetely a superhost. Always friendly and ready to help with whatever you need. Taxi transfer, tuk-tuk ride, bike rental, sightseeing, food and laundry, power adapters, you name it. His family is also very charming, positive and helpful. The place is always clean, with nice minimalistic furniture. The location is about 7-10 minute bike ride to the sea shore and it might be a good thing as it's quiet and chill. It was a great starting point for my trip and I don't regret staying here for 9 days.

We stayed at Sujeewes place for 5 weeks. It is a great space and has great wifi, especially if you are working. There is lots of space if you like to cook and spend time in the apartment. The balcony is also lovely as you can sit outside and watch the birds. You can hear the prayers in the morning and it's really nice to sit and watch the birds, squirrels, mongoose etc. Sujeewa was very helpful and assisted us with everything needed help with including getting a tuktuk to the next place. He also helped by giving us another fan so we could use the AC less in the main bedroom. The family were really lovely. The rooms are a great size and we felt as though we had a lot of space as a couple. And a great big dining table! There is just a couple of small things I would mention if you were looking to stay here that differ from the photos - there is no oven/microwave as pictured and the balcony also does not have the desk chairs. Other than that, everything was as noted on the listing.

Our stay at Pramod's place with my family was fantastic! He is truly an incredible host, always attentive to our needs and ready to help with anything we required. His kindness and generosity exceeded all expectations, from assisting with our late check-in due to a delayed flight to helping us organize various trips around the area. The apartment is fantastic, always clean and located in a convenient area for any interest. I highly recommend staying with him so an unique experience !

We had a great time at Hannah and Amila’s place! Hilkkadwa is one of the most amazing places we have been. The Airbnb was very comfortable and Hannah and Amila were super helpful and friendly. Easy 5 stars 🌟👌

Very sweet Airbnb, right at a great surf spot. Well equipped kitchen, super comfy and clean, nice garden, great lighting concept, washing machine, fridge, just everything you need. The area is very calm and nice, the whole neighborhood very friendly. Thuruni and the owner family were super nice and helpful. Highly recommend it and would come back anytime again. I’ve been using Airbnb for years, and Ruwan is one of the best hosts I’ve had! He’s incredibly accommodating, and his warm family makes you feel right at home. We arrived two days early because our last place wasn’t what we expected, and from the moment we got to Ruwan's, we knew we had found a gem. We even extended our stay by another night! Ruwan has a tuk-tuk and offers fair prices for rides around the area. He can also arrange airport taxis for about the same cost as Uber, which was super convenient. The apartment was clean and perfect for our week-long stay. The internet connection was excellent, so I could easily join remote video calls. You get a true jungle experience with monkeys and birds, and the beach is just a short 5-10 minute walk away. Breakfast was amazing, featuring tasty Sri Lankan dishes and fresh fruits. On our last day, Ruwan took us to Turtle Beach for a great price. We highly recommend his place—he genuinely cares about making your stay memorable.

Home away from home- the place is peaceful, in the midst of lush greenery, clean & looks just like the pictures. The host is very responsive & the direction to find the property are easy. Public transport is easy to get.

We had a great stay at Bandula’s villa! Bandula was so helpful and friendly. The place was clean and perfectly located. We would 100% stay here again if we came back to Sri Lanka

We had a wonderful stay in Weligama. The accommodation was neat and the host is so kind! Worth the price. One has to consider, that the house lays directly at the main road. In total a great stay!

A beautiful well maintained villa right next to the beach. The owner Tharushi is very nice and helpful.

Amani's place is the perfect spot when visiting Weligama. They have a beautifully renovated home, with a room upstairs, and another downstairs (each with their own bathrooms). It's in a great location, just 10 minutes from the beach. Check-in was simple, the place was clean, and we really enjoyed our time there. Additionally, the AC worked great! Lastly, the Hosts mother also made us an incredible dinner (for a reasonable price) and it was one of the best meals we had. We would recommend this beautiful place to friends and family, and hope to return sometime in the future. A couple additional notes: The hosts home is connected to the airbnb. Additionally, the home is next to a school, which can be a little noisy in the mornings. This was completely fine for us, since we're early risers, but you may want to bring ear plugs if you like to sleep in.

Lahiru and Piyushani are such lovely and warm people and their place is such a peaceful tropical oasis. Everything you could wish for is around this area, incredible beaches, food, temples and green tropics. They very kindly upgraded us to their villas which were just divine. Clean and airy with lovely spaces to sit and read all day…as we chose to do on multiple days. It has an amazing bed to sleep in and is very private and spacious. We ended up staying two weeks just because it felt like the perfect space to stop. They were caring in checking in and making sure everything was ok. Would stay here again and again and again. Paradise 🌴

We had an incredible stay at Dilan’s place in Sri Lanka! Traveling as two families, the pool quickly became a daily highlight for both kids and adults—it was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for relaxing. The house itself was spotless, comfortable, and equipped with plenty of amenities that made our stay easy and enjoyable. Safety was never a concern, and the location was convenient, with many great restaurants nearby. What truly set this experience apart was Dilan’s outstanding hospitality. He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, offering helpful recommendations and always being available when we had questions. It felt like we were genuinely cared for throughout our stay. A special highlight was the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast prepared by Dilan’s family—it was such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. We can’t recommend this place enough and will certainly be returning in the future. Thank you, Dilan, for making our trip so special!

I stayed at Ananda's place for 5 weeks. The place is great! It was extremely clean upon check in. The place is spacious, exatly like the photos. The bed is very comfy with mosquito net. The wifi is strong and stable, perfect for remote working. They also have a small shop where you can get basic stuff such as water, cookies, soap, etc. Very convenient. The location is good. You can walk to the beach, 10-15 min. Ananda and his wife Malika are super host. Very sweet and atentive, they took care about everything so my stay was perfect. Malika is an excellent cook. She cooks absolutely delicious Sri Lankan food for a very reasonable price (way cheaper than any restaurant). It was without any doubt the best local food I tried in Sri Lanka. Definetly a must try! I recommend the place 100%! :)

We are a travelling family and the villa was just perfect for us. We also work online so we needed a quick internet - and it worked very well. Sanjaya and his family are warm beautiful people and they always helped us with anything we asked for. We also enjoyed the garden that is full of birds. Very recommended accomodation! The best airbnb place! The hosts are very welcoming, helped us with many problems. Rooms are clean and same as described. You can cook, drink, do laundry and so on. Distance to Galle fort may be a bit far, we just walk there casually but you can also easily get a tuk tuk by pickme app. The quality compared to price is perfect!!!! We enjoy a looooot! Thanks!

Charming place in a lovely quiet part of Galle Fort. We enjoyed watching couples get wedding photos taken outside. Hosts are a delightful couple of retirees who obviously enjoy having guests stay in their self contained first floor ‘granny flat’. In fact the vibe was a bit like saying at your grandparents place with lots of tried and tested practical features and good internet! Was lovely to stay here and can highly recommend.

We will remember our time in Galle with such fondness, thanks to the wonderful hospitality of Nihal and Chandra. They went above and beyond to make our 3 night stay a comfortable and enjoyable one. The apartment itself was very clean and spacious. It was well equipped and included all the necessities, and most importantly, they all functioned perfectly, including the microwave, water dispenser, clothes washing facility, AC/fan, and the toilet/shower. Chandra kindly prepared an absolutely delicious bed tea and breakfast for us on two of the mornings, and they were always downstairs to help with anything, from advice about local attractions, to loaning us umbrellas and beach towels. We can't thank them enough for their thoughtfulness and generosity. We highly recommend a stay at their apartment - they truly are superhosts!

Very spacious place and very clean. Padma and her family are nice, very flexible with check-in and check-out and went out their way to meet our needs. Great place and very well equipped kitchen. It’s next to the main road which is very loud but you can’t hear it too much from the bedroom. The secret beach is only 30 seconds walk away!!!
