A suspension bridge is viewed against a backdrop of snow-covered mountains under a bright blue sky. Snow blankets the pathway leading to the bridge, framed by trees, with the sunlight creating a shimmering effect on the snow. The scene captures a serene and picturesque winter landscape.

Tranquil Mountain Getaway | Breathtaking Scenery

Anju and her team are perfect hosts. We found a place with local charm, ample space, great equipped and spotlessly clean. The shower / washing area is all new. Our toddler was very happy with the great amount of space to play. Sleeping/ living was comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed her international breakfast options at her cafe nearby. Super market and 7/11 are in walking distance. Train station is nearby and also the buses to access the Nakasendo hiking paths. We did the hike from Magome to Magone pass. We did some evening trips by train to nearby villages e.g. Agamatsu where we enjoyed utterly tasty eel from the aquarium at Sakae family / 栄家. Nagiso is an excellent place for activities in the valley and Anju is the perfect host. We would definitely come again.
A wood stove with a black chimney is positioned against a backdrop of wooden walls. The stove features a round opening at the front, highlighting a warm glow. A wooden chair and a folding stool are nearby, enhancing the rustic ambiance of the space.

The check-in instructions were very polite, and I was grateful for the quick response. The inn was a very relaxing space surrounded by special furniture. The air I breathed in the morning in the veranda garden was very pleasant. It was a place I would definitely like to stay again!

The house as well as the experience was amazing, it is much more beautiful than the photos. It’s one of the most beautiful renovated Japanese homes I’ve been in. The hosts are really friendly and helpful to give us recommendations which made our trip so enjoyable. If I travel to Gifu again I’d definitely stay again!

[Entire house rental] Spacious 120 sqm rental house

YalingRating, 5 stars1 week ago
It has everything we need for a few days of stay in town, sightseeing and remote working at the same time. The house is close to a major roadway so the car noise from the street is a little loud. However, we enjoyed the spaciousness of the house, multiple rooms for different activities, and a home away from home vibe! Will come back again!

This stop was the highlight of the trip - you're in a rainforest, above a running stream surrounded by nature and birds. The place is stunning with two onsens and incredible views of nature. Highly recommend this place for your trip. The onsite housekeeper is super helpful and friendly.

A 200-year-old house in the heart of Tsumago-juku is spacious and completely private!

RogerRating, 5 stars6 days ago
Ue-choujiya house is a traditional house in the middle of the wonderful tsumago post town. The house and the whole village is a great experience and trip to the past. The place is extremely clean and host puts a great attention to details. We didn’t know but the host inform us that restaurants close early, around 4:30pm and proposed to prepare a set of bento for us since we were arriving around 6pm. Similarly, there is no convenience store nearby, but the host left plenty of water for us She was waiting for us at the house and gave the tour of the house and kindly explain how everything worked. For only two people is a bit pricey but ultimately is more than worth its price For more people is just a great deal We had a great stay and We would love to return given the opportunity. Totally recommended!

We loved Saori’s house. Large and spacious with lots of cutlery, crockery, record player and games. It’s feels like their holiday home with all of the extras. It’s in such a gorgeous, stunning location that it’s hard to imagine it’s real. The view of the mountains and rice paddies are delightful. It was a fair distance from where the bus dropped us off, we walked for about 25mins to get there. But it was definitely worth it. Just be sure to have groceries with you if you need them. Once there, it’s walkable to onsens, restaurants and lots of local attractions. We were sad to leave!
