Shepherds hut vacation rentals in Kennet and Avon Canal

A lovely shepherds hut in a quiet locations with beautiful scenery. Everything you needed for a peaceful short break - we especially loved the milk, juice, bread, butter, jam and eggs! Hot tub is enormous and great for relaxing looking at the birds of prey.

The pictures really don't do it justice. We had an amazing time and there's so much around the area to see, we've not even scratched the surface. We'll definitely be coming back.

We had a lovely night at Frank's place and were blessed with clear skies to be able to see the many stars! Everything about the hut was lovely, it was cozy and had everything we needed for our short stay. A huge bonus is the lovely breakfast (warm croissants and homemade delicious jam! If it was in a jar, we'd buy it), homemade brownies, and their lovely dog Daisy. This was such a needed getaway, and we'd recommend to anyone.

What a fantastic oasis of tranquility to visit. Terry and Jenny are excellent hosts and could not do more for you. The huts were all styled beautifully and were spotlessly clean. The attention to detail is fantastic and Jenny has thought of everything. Sitting by the firepit at night, with a glass in hand listening to the owls was priceless. Florence, Hector and the dogs were just an added bonus. We will definitely return.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Our dogs absolutely loved the space and it was perfect for them to really stretch their legs. The cabin was super cozy, we stayed during a bit of a temperature drop so it was around -3 at night but the log burner was so warm we didn't even need a jumper on! Along with the temperature drop came some snow and we actually ended up getting stuck on the hill on toward the entrance but Mark answered his phone immediately and rushed down in his Land Rover to give us a tow up and nothing was too much to ask, we felt super accommodated. Thanks again :)

Very close to, just 15 minutes, but out of the sprawl of Oxford; in beautiful farmland with fabulous walks and charming pubs, rivers for dipping into. Beautifully decorated space with everything one needs, quietly located in the corner of a field. Really comfortable bed with cushions, perfect place to read, with good light and a window. Recommend local-ish Mason Arms for relaxed coffee and papers. Good shower and thoughtful makeup mirrors in communal bathroom. Very quick response (booked hours before!) and kind and welcoming welcome.

Had a great weekend at Serena’s hut! Great communication from her with fab recommendations- the potting shed pub is gorgeous! No signal in the hut and little insulation but wood for the fire is provided and lots of blankets. Gorgeous location, thanks so much

We had a lovely weekend in this Shepard’s Hut. It’s in a great location and was very dog friendly. Would definitely recommend!

The hut is cozy and cute with the basic amenities, warm water and lots of recommendations on local walks and things to do in the area. Vida very kindly laid the stove for us and supplied us with enough wood for the duration of our stay. The overall experience was great. We felt that WiFi was slow and temperamental sometimes.

We really loved our stay! Very peaceful and private - the perfect escape. The wood fire was great and heated the hut up immediately. The hot tub was bliss with amazing views. Fully functional kitchen with everything you need - the bacon, eggs, bread, milk and butter was a lovely gesture. The bathroom was modern with a lovely overhead shower (soap and shampoo provided). Very comfortable night sleep and will definitely be returning! Thank you so much.

Our stay was better than we could've imagined. Sitting outside by the fire cooking up some BBQ food for dinner was the highlight of our trip. The outdoor bath is so worth the wait to get heated up. Amazing stay at an amazing location.

This shepherds hut must be the best in the South West! Lou is a fab host, so friendly and accommodating. The hut itself is even more stunning than the pictures - it has been so cleverly designed and decorated. It felt like a really luxury stay, with dressing gowns, lovely quality bedding and overall great facilities. The hot tub is glorious, with the candles and lights making it even prettier. The surrounding area is very picturesque and we would definitely return. Thank you Lou!

Due to the extremely cold overnight temperatures Ros and Hugh offered us the adjacent loft conversion rather than the shepherd's hut, which we accepted, so we can't speak to the hut itself. But Ros and Hugh were excellent hosts, the breakfast offered was delicious and it's a beautiful location. The property was full of lots of information about local walks and pubs and we were able to check-out late which was helpful in the snow!

Angela’s place is lovely and peaceful place to stay. Great communication from the host leading up to and throughout our stay. The local village has nice pubs for meals out in the evening and supermarkets not too far away if you wanted to cook and relax in the log fire hot tub. Stourhead is a must see for the fantastic gardens.

From booking until check out, everything was perfect! Janine was a fantastic host. Full of great advice on walks, where to eat and clear instructions on check in. There were also great instructions in the hut for every single appliance which made our stay stress free! The hut was very comfortable, warm and cozy, and the jacuzzi was just what was needed after a long day exploring and views to die for. Beautiful location ❤️

A fabulous peaceful and romantic bolt hole - beautifully furnished, very comfortable. Great welcome hamper, much appreciated. Just the right level of extremely helpful and friendly service and lots of peace and quiet. Having to make the fire (all beautifully pre-laid for us) and keep it going for the hot tub was fun and well worth it when we got in. The robes and slippers are a great touch. Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely one night stay in Victoria’s shepherds hut. Although it’s in her garden and not far from the house, it feels very private and has a great outdoor seating area with fire pit. The hot tub (which is an extra cost) is next to the house but on a sheltered corner and not over looked. It was spotless and well maintained. The shepherds hut is beautiful and has everything you need for a short break. If you are lucky to have clear skies like we were you can see beautiful stars through the clear roof section as Freeland is very dark! The pub 2 doors away was friendly and had good food, with standard British pub grub options and a good range of beers. Victoria is a lovely host, friendly and welcoming with plenty of local info if you need. With Oxford Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds all within easy reach this Shepherds Hut makes a great base.

A really wonderful hut with gorgeous views for wildlife spotting from your bed. Everything well equipped and a lovely touch to leave essential food and drink in the hut - that was greatly appreciated. It’s close to a charming village and great walks. We had an amazing time and will certainly return.
