Cottage vacation rentals in Kennet and Avon Canal

Superb find and only 45 minutes from home, but felt a million miles away! Very quaint, cozy and had everything we needed. The hot tub was perfect along side the cottage too. Having the added Sky available was also a rare but perfect addition that you don’t always get away from home. Comfy bed, lovely shower and all in all, a lovely little place to stay. Such a lovely stay with Jenna. We stayed in the Annexe and it was beautifully clean, well equipped and instantly we felt at home. Super comfortable bed and lovely hot tub!

We stayed here on New Year’s Eve and had the best time! The hot tub was pre-heated as requested and the house was absolutely beautiful. Very quirky, interesting interior and spotless. I stayed at poppy’s with my sister and two other friends. The cottage was perfect for our little break- beautifully decorated, lovely log burner. The hot tub was amazing and the fairy lights around the garden made it feel really special. Robes provided as well as bathroom towels and towels to take out to hot tub. Bathroom was lovely as was kitchen. Nice pubs/restaurants nearby as well as countryside walks. Last lovely touch was Prosecco, milk and chocolates in the fridge for us!

Absolutely loved our stay at Dovecote, the photos are lovely but the place is beautiful in real life. Kayleigh was just at the end of a message and very helpful. check in was really easy. we always think it's a good sign when there is milk available on arrival for a cup of tea after a long drive too! a few minor things could make things a little easier, oven gloves (ouch), instructions for oven and hot tub and standard tv apps on the TV (itv & 4 on demand). these are only minor and my personal opinion which has not put me off as we really look forward to booking again to come in the summer! Thank you for making my birthday weekend getaway a really lovely, relaxing time!

Such an unbelievable place to stay, exactly the feel and vibe I was looking for for a week a ay for my fiancés birthday. The place has so much character, beautiful decor, picturesque views but best of all…we were blessed with the company of Marley (Jamie and Dans adopted cat) to keep us company when we were in the hot tub and came and cuddled with us most evenings and mornings :) Such an amazing stay and would recommend the accommodation and hosts to anyone!

Sue and Robert were excellent hosts. The cottage was well equipped and very clean. Shower had good power and the beds were lovely. We had a nice relaxing break.

Lovely place to stay, added extras of milk, bread, cookies and Prosecco added to the warm and comfortable atmosphere on a couple of the coldest nights of the year!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely stay, it’s our second time at this property! And is ideal for what we were looking for! The place is very peaceful and welcoming! The private garden area is ideal for those travelling with dogs. Lovely walks close by and the home is very cosy for relaxing. The bed is super comfortable so had a great nights sleep. We would definitely return for another trip.

The photos don't do this place justice! We had a lovely stay here for a long weekend and it had everything we needed. The beds were comfy, pillows and duvet included. It was clean and had lovely big towels and shower gel in the showers. The kitchen was fully equipped with utensils, crockery and kitchen equipment plus complimentary teas and coffee. The view in the morning was beautiful and the owner was helpful to answer any questions. Definitely worth a visit with 2 local pubs to visit!

The cottage is really lovely, very clean and cosy. It’s also situated in a pretty village which is great to walk around. Karin was a smashing host, very friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. I particularly loved her dogs as did my own black Labrador! I would have no hesitation in staying in the cottage again and indeed, look forward to it!

House was beautiful and fully equipped with everything we needed. It was right on the high street so perfect location!

This is an unusual stone cottage with a quirky, romantic decorative style. The cottage sits in a lovely garden away from the main roads and has a peaceful ambience. That said, pretty villages and historic towns, such as Wells with its pubs and cafes, are a short drive away. Nunney Castle is very near, and a real hidden gem. As is the old steam train line. We had everything we needed for our weekend getaway and it was over Christmas, Marie had put up a Christmas tree and left us some treats - a lovely touch. When we need to speak to Marie she responded pretty promptly.

Fabulous place to stay and visit family over the Christmas period. Close to amenities and local villages with a great choice of cosy pubs and restaurants and really easy to find the cottage. Excellent hosts with great communication and made us feel at home straight away with a top quality welcome pack of essential food and drink, topped off with a lovely Christmas tree. Thanks for everything including finding the toy bunny for us and will definitely consider another stay when back in the area next time, highly recommended!!

Belinda's place was absolutely wonderful, it looked better than the photos - the setting was a very rural, picture-perfect Costwolds village, and the home was as comfortable and cosy as we'd hoped. I'd happily return!

We had a lovely stay in Edith’s cottage, perfect for an escape from the city! The cottage is on the cycle path into the Forest of Dean and the family cycle route is brilliant for all ages and levels, we hope to return to try some of the harder routes! The cottage itself is clean and very cosy and equipped with everything we needed, we stayed in winter and we loved warm nights playing Jenga by the log burner. Ann was a great host and shared lots of local knowledge ahead of our stay and in the info pack, I used one of the bikes and it was perfect for the easy paths. We’d love to return and highly recommend it.

Lovely bolthole, perfectly located for exploring some beautiful gardens. The offer of parking in the drive rather than opposite the cottage was much easier and much appreciated. We would definitely consider staying again.

We had a fantastic quiet NYE and NY in Rose Cottage with friends and our 3 doggies. Beautiful private place within walking distance to the local pub. Great walks on your door step so we never used the car. The place is wonderful with everything you need. Hamish was the perfect host and the bottle of bubbly was a lovely touch. We would defo recommend and we will defo return.

An incredible stay over Christmas with my family. Ann made so much effort with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, wreath and decorations throughout. The home is beautifully decorated and we felt right at home. The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need! Ann & Pete were super friendly and very responsive! The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom clean and spacious. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage with us. We immediately felt at home and wish we could stay longer.

If you are looking for a characterful Cotswold cottage with privacy, an intimate environment & just enough features to remain fully functional & connected with the outside world when you need to be, then this could be for you. It's situated within a very quiet village but several pubs & restaurants are only 10min drive away. Large outdoor space that's buffered from surrounding farmland the hosts were easy to deal with & responsive.

Honestly wow. We spent our Christmas Day here and it was amazing. Beautiful views from the cottage, a wood fire, walks down the canal, Christmas dinner at a local pub. Francis is an unbelievable host. When we arrived the fire was lit, he had put the heated blanket on the bed for us. There was fresh eggs, bread, orange juice and milk in the fridge. Francis was so welcoming and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We HIGHLY recommend a stay here. We feel super relaxed. Thank you.

My daughter and I had a super enjoyable stay with Wendy. The place was spotless and beautifully decorated inside. One of the best Airbnb's I have stayed in, as it was so well equipped inside, everything had been thoroughly considered. Wendy was super lovely and welcoming, also very helpful. Although we are super local it felt like a special treat to stay for the weekend. It’s a great spot to stay in, peaceful and beautiful countryside.
