I have stayed at 6 other upmarket establishments this year, however, this Windmill Cottage on Grootkloof Farm was by far my favorite. The location is magnificent, with tranquil natural and diverse Tankwa scenery. Stunningly private, with just the gentle sounds of Karoo birds. The accommodation was mind blowingly beautiful, spacious (we are a family of 4) and so well kitted out. It was modern, but naturally beautiful and suited the Tankwa surroundings. The hot tub worked perfectly for evenings and we spent almost all day in the plunge pool. I had a bit of work to do and the WiFi worked perfectly, and I found the surroundings and exquisite views very inspiring. The walks behind the cottage take you to breathtaking views and very interesting rock formations. The farm tracks allow lovely mountain biking options. James and Amy the hosts were very welcoming and informative. Clearly a lot of passion and pride has been put into making Windmill Cottage a beautiful Tankwa Karoo diamond.

This was the perfect space to get some much needed rest and downtime. I thoroughly enjoyed reading on the hammock, watching horses in the fields, observing the bird life, having visitations from the friendly and well-behaved dogs and having lekker braais in the evenings. I was lucky to happen upon two magnificent blue cranes on my way in which was an absolute treat for me ❤️ Checking in and out was super easy. Wendy was an excellent and attentive host. I hope to return with my partner next time. Thank you for the awesome stay!

Quite honestly my favourite staycation getaway I’ve experienced. This cabin is beyond exceptional. It’s completely unique and has the most incredible feeling of being the only place on earth. I can say with confidence I’d return at the first opportunity. Christine was so helpful, unwaveringly responsive and really just a delight. Thanks guys. What a treat.

My husband and I had the most magical honeymoon stay. The dome is beautiful, cosy, private and the nature surroundings are breathtaking. We enjoyed cooking meals in the outdoor kitchen. The dam is clean and it's perfect to take a dip on a hot day. We'd come back any day!
