Cottage vacation rentals in Illinois

This was our second visit to Amanda’s and just like the first time, it left my boys with fun memories. We will be back next summer.

Every year we visit Cypress there are more improves and amenities. Always a great stay and so much to do. Amanda and her team run this place like a well oiled machine. We visit once in the winter and once or twice in the summer. A favorite for sure.

We had a lovely stay. it's super cute, private, and quiet. we will definitely book again. there are 13 other cabins to chose from. We also enjoyed the town and near by venues. Cool place❣️

Clean, easy check in, no huge cleaning fee. Few DVDs she had there came in handy because service went out due to a storm. Coffee in kitchen was awesome! Hot tub worked and very clean!! Fishing off the bank, caught several bass!! Peaceful getaway!

The Cabin was super cute and just as described. Every time I reached out with a question or request, Amanda responded promptly and helpfully. Would definitely book again.

i loved this place. my australian terrier, mackay, and i stayed for 5 nights. there was a carport, which provided a great place to attach the cable i used to tie out mackay. although it rained a lot, i was able to soak in the wonderful hot tub between showers. the home was very comfortable. i especially enjoyed the enclosed porch where is set up my laptop, and watched birds on the lake. a great blue heron (i think) visited twice while i was watching the lake was also visited by a swan (also, i think). at first i wasn't sure if it was a swan or goose, but decided it was a swan because the neck was real long. wish i would have remembered a bird book and binoculars! thanks, kim and tony

The place was beautiful. The house is a bit old but we didn’t mind it, it made it feel homey in a way. My friends and I loved the hot tub, would love to come back again.

This cottage was perfect for a ladies getaway to Galena. We were only 10 minutes from downtown. The hot tub was a nice bonus, although it did take about 30 minutes before the jets kicked in, which was worth the wait. The house is surrounded by nature, and there was easy access to walking trails.

Steve was an excellent host and created a very welcoming and fun experience for our weekend stay. He gave great recommendations, the house had everything we could possibly ask for, and made sure we enjoyed every aspect of our stay. We will definitely be looking to stay again in the near future!

A delightful stay in this charming historic home in a quiet neighborhood. It was just the peaceful retreat I needed while visiting the area. Beth was a wonderfully thoughtful and responsive host.

Very clean and welcoming. The kids loved fishing and playing board games. Over all I highly recommend this charming home.

This was a short stay with the family while my son turkey hunted. The home was clean,comfortable and homey. Very peaceful area. Fenced area for our dog. Shawnee Nationalforest with hiking trails, Garden of the Gods, fishing, Cave in Rock. Hope to stay here again.

This cozy cottage has beautiful fees of the lake! We loved the sunroom and all beds were comfy. Loved the well stocked kitchen where I was able to make some favorites for my Grandsons. Highly recommend!

What an amazing place! April’s property is beautiful, right at the edge of a lake. The location is secluded and serene—perfect if you are looking for a break from it all. The home had everything we wanted, the kitchen was well-equipped, the bathrooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. We are so glad to have found this gem, and hope to stay again!

It was so nice to get away and relax for the night at the cottage! It was so peaceful! Water pressure in the shower was amazing and the bed was so comfortable! Will definitely stay again!

This was my second time staying at Marianne's place and I really love it. Right on the river, and super quiet and peaceful. Would be happy to stay again sometime!

I'm not sure where to start with Amber's gorgeous place on the water because it was that darn good!!! Let's start with how incredibly kind Amber was! This is thee single most nicest person I have ever dealt with through Airbnb. She was very quick to respond, went out of her way to ask how we were doing and if we were enjoying our stay, and most importantly made us feel so safe when there were a few spring storms heading towards Peoria. I literally felt like she was my friend and made us feel so comfortable! On top of being a super wonderful person, Amber has the most beautiful, serene home! It has plenty of room, is super clean and full of everything you need to stay for weeks, and did I mention the scenery, the water, and the sunsets are beautiful?! It was such a relaxing place to come back to after a long day of coaching at a vball tourney. The neighborhood is also very safe and very quiet! We will definitely be back again 100%, especially if we have another tourney in Peoria again!!

We had such a wonderful stay at Cara's cottage. The location was incredibly relaxing and exceeded our expectations. Cara was an outstanding host, always quick to respond, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We look forward to staying at Cara's cottage the next time we visit.

Awesome cabin by the river. In person it is much bigger than pictures seem, can easily squeeze in a big family or group of friends. Highly recommend going in the fall or early spring to avoid the crowds on the water and enjoy the peacefulness outside.
