House vacation rentals in Hook

We had a lovely Easter weekend here as a three-generation family – grandparents, parents, and young children all thoroughly enjoyed it! The house is absolutely beautiful , stylish, and full of character, set in a peaceful spot, it even includes an old water-mill. The location was ideal for us with easy access to Oxford and the surrounding area. There’s a new children's play area just a short walk away, and the local farm shop nearby was perfect for picking up fresh produce and treats – we had everything we needed without having to go far. The hosts were thoughtful and welcoming, and the house was spotless with everything we could need for a comfortable stay. Plenty of space for everyone to relax.

Stunning !! Tucked away and so private . Everything just worked so well for our family of 12 . The layout of the house and garden were perfect ! You literally are in the middle of the forest surrounded by wildlife and nature . It was hard to leave the house but our recommendation for a family day out would be Moors Valley Country Park . Katie thank you ! And please let us come back next year !!!

A beautiful property to spend the Easter weekend. The house is even larger than the photos, great kitchen, lots of amenities and we loved the manicured garden with many activities available. We were lucky to have sunny weather so could enjoy the cold pool. Hot tub was great! Very well located, pub close by, easy to reach via train. Hosts were responsive and easy communication, thank you! Highly recommended.

We were a family party with ages from 5 to 75 . Lots for everyone to do ( swimming , tennis, billiards/snooker & beautiful walks all there) There was enough space both inside the wonderfully converted barn and outside in the extensive grounds to enjoy each others company without being overcrowded. Thanks Sarah for enabling a lovely weekend .

Everything that you would want a charming old farmhouse to be. multiple fireplaces, kitchen with multiple ovens, lovely garden / paths into the hills, totally quiet road. Charlotte made checkin easy and they were jsut down the road the whole weekend (although we didn't need anything from them during our stay)

booked with miranda for a couple of nights and she couldn't have been a better host.. very helpful and responded to right awa to any queries I had.. the house and garden were both beautiful and the whole stay was very enjoyable.. would definaltet recommend 👌.

We really enjoyed our stay. We booked for two nights and it felt really homely and comfortable. Fiona was responsive right from the get go and was a really friendly host. She even asked if we needed a highchair and baby gate, which was a really kind to offer travelling with a toddler. My daughter also really enjoyed playing on the children’s playground and the surrounding areas were beautiful. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here and would happily stay again if we were in the area. Thank you!

Quirky chatectful home from home large place to stay with some great facilities. Like hot tub, quality air fryer and coffee maker. Comfy beds. Plenty of space for our multi generational family get away. Lovely welcome pack of treats. Description accurate re facilities..

If you are thinking about starting an Airbnb, Mary’s place is a great example of how to do things right. The house was spotlessly clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and to be honest I wouldn’t change a thing. Mary was pro-active, friendly and helpful and gave me clear instructions as to how to access the place, where to park etc. I have already booked for later this year and will find myself in the same area next year; I will be back!

Myself and a few friends were looking to escape and have a private beautiful place for a relaxing new year break and the barn was exactly this! We felt at home straight away. The barn is stunning - it’s somebody’s home with books, artwork, rugs, lots of life. Once you’re settled you won’t want to leave- we didn’t!

This was a very clean and comfortable place to stay with our own private garden. Lovely surroundings. James was a very friendly and helpful host. We asked for a couple of things and he sorted them out immediately. Our group enjoyed their stay very much and would happily go there again.

We had another good stay at Vans’s place. Very spacious and quiet property.

We've just returned from a wonderful weekend stay at Aimee's little gem of a place and it was everything we hoped for and more. It was clean, quirky and the boat access was a real treat! Thank you for your hospitality Aimee! You and your place were marvelous!

cant speak highly enough of tessas place, the photos and description was absolutely spot on, check in was simple house lovely tidy and spacious, bathrooms were brilliant excellent water pressure kitchen stocked and we wanted for nothing bedrooms were lovely and an added touch you don't normally see a fan in every bedroom and they came in very handy last week as it was red hot in Southampton absolute god send, a sun trap of a back garden stones throw from supermarket and other shops lovely walk to centre!!! thankyou for a fantastic stay!!!!

It was a lovely place, a very good wide space for everyone to enjoy the evenings in. Lovely location for our needs with a very responsive host to answer all questions we had. Will 100% recommend.

We had a fantastic stay - the house is absolutely gorgeous and very comfortable, plenty of room for two families. The kitchen is amazing, a fantastic communal space and really well equipped. The living rooms are cosy whilst still being light and airy and the bedrooms all great. Thank you so much for a great long weekend.

Rachel is a lovely host will respond to all messages and her home is cosy and welcoming. A lovely view out of the back garden. In a quiet area of Shalford and in walking distance of all amenities which is, Village store, cafe, barbers, post office/shop, Chinese/chippy, Thai restaurant and pub. Shalford also has a train station. It's also a short drive in to Guildford town centre. We stayed with family and had a lovely relaxing time before they had to fly from Gatwick Airport which is 50mins away by car. Google maps took us through the countryside avoiding Motorway. Would highly recommend staying here and if in the area again will definitely book to stay.

Such a beautiful house in perfectly peaceful surroundings. Victoria was a great host and we would definitely love to come back again.

I would recommend this to anybody... Ideal to stay for trips to London... Michael took the time out to contact me prior to stay regards issues with a shower and dish washer... But fixed them prior to our arrival as promised... Excellent place & excellent host... Thanks again Michael
