Vacation rentals in Honaunau-Napoopoo

Seriously paradise. It met all my desires for a beach vacation: It is right across the street from Magic sands beach - the condo is set back, so about a 4 minute walk. I think it is the only sandy beach in the area. A 3 minute drive to amazing snorkeling in a protected bay/ cove. A 10 minute drive to great shops and restaurants. You have your own parking spot. Re: the condo- Quiet, and I am a light sleeper. Chorus of birds in the trees on the property begins at dawn. They are the alarm clock I've always wanted. They get more quiet after the initial greeting of the day. The apartment has all the amenities, including good kitchen knives for cooking, pots and pans in good shape, olive oil, pls more. All the beach gear and snorkeling gear you could want. You have a partial ocean view from the lanai, it is really nice to sit out at the table and eat while gazing at the water and hills. Do be safe at this beach - big waves break right on sand - just use common sense and you will be fine.

The house was gorgeous, it matched the pictures and descriptions perfectly. At night it was very peaceful and just the most beautiful views every morning. My wife and I loved that it was so close to the best snorkeling that we've ever done and if you didn't want to do the hike to get to it there's plenty of rentable kayaks nearby. We also managed to see a mama humpback whale and her calf in the bay while we were relaxing on the lanai. Last thing I'll say is that the house was close to alot of local food places that all are highly recommended. When I plan my next trip to the Big Island I will definitely be looking to stay at this house again.

We have stayed at a few airbnbs, but Chris’s place was the cleanest airbnb we have ever seen. Seriously. Even places that were far more expensive weren’t as clean as this place. Bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, even the carport- the entire place was spotless and clean. The driveway is steep but our rental car was a Mazda CX-30 and we had no problems going up or down. Rent an suv and follow Chris’s instructions and you’ll be fine. We loved how secluded and quiet Chris’s place is, while still being only 5-10 minutes away from stores, cafes, etc. Loved the location. Loved the views and the house even more. Also loved the playground in the backyard which was also clean. We especially want to thank Chris for providing various beach gear which was so so convenient. I have never written such a long review for anything in my life so hopefully this just shows how much we appreciated and enjoyed our stay at Chris’s house. Thank you so much!

Part of a condo group, next to (unpretentious) Beaches restaurant - which locals stated was "the best in Kona" - and only steps away from Magic Sands Beach. View out the double wide slider was to clear ocean surf, full of yellow tang and black trigger fish visible in most swells. There is no A/C but the fans (there were 5 but we really only need the two large ceiling fans) kept it very comfortable.) This was April and daytime temperatures were low 80's. All in all a very nice place hanging out or as a home base. Great location for Kona and the beaches north. About .1 mile to La'aloa St, which takes you up to Hwy 11 (bypass highway for north or south travel. I recommend for a group of 2.

We had a great stay at Ruth’s place - it was clean, quiet, and centrally located for us to explore the island. Ruth had equipped the place with everything you might need - from cooking appliances, tea and coffee, to beach towels and chairs. We had a lovely time and will plan to stay again next time we vacation in the Kona area!

Erika’s Airbnb in Kailua-Kona was fantastic, and it was truly a pleasure to stay here. It is a sprawling condo with a great layout and a beautiful living room, kitchen, balcony, and bedroom. In addition to all the very useful appliances and amenities the condo came with (a large fridge, a washer/dryer, etc.), the condo was adorned with a bulletin of wonderful recommendations and was stocked with all the supplies we could possibly need, from kitchen items to cleaning supplies to snorkeling gear, fostering a best-of-both-worlds feeling of “staying at home” while enjoying a tropical vacation. The location of the condo is also fantastically convenient, with close proximity by car to gas stations, big-name stores such as Safeway and Wal-Mart, a mix of both quick fast food options and wonderful sit-down restaurants and breweries, the Kona airport, and an array of incredible tour experiences, landmarks, and beach parks in West Hawaii. Such an amazing feeling walking in the door to a clean, pristine, organized, beautiful space. Lots of room for the price and great fitting for 3-4 people. No one was standing on eachother, where I’ve stayed at places for the same price and we were so tight so this was refreshing. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom and shower was so clean and wonderful, everything was organized and easy to use and understand. I am beyond happy with my stay and I do recommend this to anyone who is looking for a place in town where you can walk into town and go shopping or eating and not be directly on the main road having to hear loud cars pass by. This place was quiet and amazing. 10/10 Thank you so much

Wonderful stay with a great view. The bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was on point. We sat outside for a few of the sunsets and highly recommend doing so! Our travels took us all the way up and down the Kona coast and this place was a perfect central hub for those trips. Annette is an excellent communicator and responded very quickly to our questions. Would recommend taking the snorkels to one of the local beaches and enjoying all the beautiful sea life!

Nancy’s place is the ideal Airbnb rental. The condo has everything we needed to feel right at home. It is beautifully updated and maintained and the lanai was our favorite spot to hang out. In addition to being very responsive and welcoming, Nancy provided us with a great list of local restaurants at our request. Kona has everything you need for a relaxing vacation or as a jumping off place for other adventures on the island. We would definitely stay again.
