Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Hokitika

We enjoyed our stay at Cushlas beautiful home. Set in a private beautiful setting that is still close to town. The house is lovely and well set up with everything you need. Cushla was a great host with responsive communication. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Robert’s place was absolutely beautiful! We loved our 2 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. You just can’t get enough of the views. The house is very big and had lots of room for our family of 4. Having 2 separate lounge areas was a luxury. The kitchen is well stocked to make your own meals and the little things like oil, salt & pepper, coffee and tea is a nice touch. It an easy 20min drive from Punakaiki and walking along Motukiekie beach (5mins away) at low tide was fantastic and recommended by Robert. We would love to stay here again if we are ever back in the neighbourhood.

Cute little cottage in Arthur’s village. Lovely new bathroom and comfortable loungeroom (updated furniture from the photos). Bed comfortable and lots of space for our family of five. Easy walk into the village. We loved the little Christmas tree in the loungeroom. Would stay again!

Had a great stay. Well presented, nicely furnished, comfortable bed in a very nice village with excellent pub, shop and heritage centre. Would definitely recommend.

This place is really special. We went for a long weekend and didn’t leave the property. It was so serene and peaceful and yet the kids were kept busy in the best ways, playing in the bush and the creek, trying the gold panning, swimming in the hot tub and searching for glow worms at night. We had a lovely time exploring the lake on the kayaks. The host makes you feel very welcome and the property is charming and has everything you really need.

Colleen’s place was so nice! The photos do not do it justice!! So many small touches that made our stay even better, like bags of lollies, chips and dip, bread in the freezer, noodles… the list is endless. Comfy beds. Immaculately clean. Highly recommend!!!!

Great place to stay. house has been well thought out , clean and fresh. very quiet street! didn't receive instructions about getting in, tried to phone Blair but no luck, friendly neighbour came to rescue with code. comfy beds, nice linen. Bath mat would have been good though.

Well the pictures instantly appealed- but it’s much larger in real life. The accessibility for me of being able to check in at 9pm was very helpful and as I had a lot of gear with me having the door at the front was very useful for loading and unloading. The details in the memrobilia were very interesting and yet a classic collection that was visually appealing A very classy apartment. Also much warmer and quieter that I had expected.

Lovely place to stay at. Great space, would be fantastic spot for families. Great hosts. Everything as described.

We loved our stay here, super comfortable, cosy & homely. Lovely views over the lake & the whole area is beautiful. We’ll be back for some fishing again in the future.

The unit is alright. Heater works well. One thing though, the kitchen doesn’t come with a sink nearby and the hot plate has pretty limited capability. I would definitely recommend those planning cooking to limit to light meals only.

An excellent stay in a very well maintained studio. Easy access from Highway 6 and 10 minutes walk to beach. Donna had thought of everything you need for a comfortable stay. Big bed and great sleep! Cannot fault this delightful place in Hokatika.
