Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
A fairy-tale-ish cabin, in your own private 1/4 acre campsite. The cabin is a lovey size, with a double futon and 2 single fold outs. With a lovely wood-burning stove, keeping the cabin warm whatever the season. Just a minute walk to the river Duddon. The camp has a kitchenette with crockery, a fire-pit area, a handmade, Iranian stone BBQ and dining area, an eco -loo. This is an exciting bolt-hole for exploring the Lakes, or to just kicking back & enjoy the nature in your own private area.

The space
Wonky Willow camp-site is a spacious, quarter of an acre, private area with a beautiful, fairy tail cabin at it's heart. Nestled in the 28 acres of beautifully landscaped, conservation land that is Ewetree Farm, surrounded in every direction by the most breathtaking views of the rolling hills in the stunning Duddon Valley. The cabin has a double futon and 2 futon chairs that fold out into single beds. Wonky Willow is nice and snug, though roomy enough to stand up and walk around. Extremely cozy, with a beautiful wood-burning stove keep the cabin warm even in the midst of Winter. Wonky Willow can comfortably sleep 4 adults, or 2 adults and 3 children.
The Cabin has no electricity, though has plenty of light, made from solar power. Next door to you one room cabin is a beautiful, handmade eco-toilet, with room to keep toiletries. in the center of the campsite there is a handmade, Iranien stone BBQ and spacious outdoor dinning area. You have a traditional fire-pit in the center of a small stone circle - perfect for roasting marshmallows and making hot chocolate in the evenings while you talk about the adventures of your day.
There is a kitchen pod in your campsite, which is stocked with basic crockery, and 2 gas hobs. Just outside of your private area you will find a tap with fresh drinking water. Just a one minute walk from your camping area is the wonderful Duddon River. Beautiful for swimming in the Summer months, or if you're very brave, other months of the year too. *We advice caution, ask only those who are used to cold water swimming to swim in the river in colder weather*.
We don't provide bedding/sleeping bags, or towels. Guests are expected to bring their own. We would advise a torch for night time trips to the loo too. All fuel for your stove is complimentary, Bev will make sure you have all that you need. He is an excellent host, and happy to help with any issue. You can find him either in his own, beautiful tiny home on the farm, or usually through the day, working around the farm, always making it beautiful and welcoming, not just to our human guests, but he has worked hard over the years to encourage wonderful wildlife. There are an abundance of small birds that come and go seasonally, so there will always be different birds to spot. We have our own resident red-spotted woodpecker, and beautiful birds of prey - a pair of mating Buzzards - who live at Ewetree all year round. There are plenty of rabbits, hares, hedgehogs - encouraged by the hedgerows planted are cared for by Bev - the tarns encourage toads and frogs, and many water loving mini-beasts, which, if you have little ones, they love to explore - We also have a resident otter who lives on the river. He's very shy, but we hope, as he works on his stick house, to see him encourage a mate in the near future.
Wonky Willow is a wonderful place to come, get away from it all, and experience a cozy, tranquil adventure. Your host Bev will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. So come visit Wonky Willow for a cozy place to stay while you enjoy the beautiful outdoors of the Lake District.

My work: I work full time on my 28 acre farm, devoting my time to conservation on the "farm". I look after the growth of eco-systems for wildlife, such as more trees, ponds, hedgerows and fields.
I live in a small house at the centre of the farm. I am always on hand if you need anything at all; should that be directions, information about the valley and surrounding area, a top up of complimentary wood and fuel for the fire. I can happily offer any support you may need during - or before - your stay. I am always eager to help, and make your stay a comfortable and unforgettable one. I spend most of my time working on the farm, though always make time for my guests and show you a taste of an eco life, should you take an interest. It's an incredibly important part of what I do on the farm. Every care has been taken to make the 28 acres surrounding you into a beautiful area full of wildlife, interesting eco systems, and my most personally important project of planting and protecting trees. I will generally be on hand, focusing on conservation, should you need anything at all . I am a friendly and approachable person who loves to share the knowledge I have gained over a lifetime of living in the beautiful and peaceful Cumbrian fells. I will always make sure you have what you need with regards to supplies of fuel, though I am no way intrusive; I just want you to enjoy the clean, fresh air, the beautiful Ewetree "Farm", and the untouched beauty of the hills surrounding Ewetree cottage. Ewetree Cottage is extremely rural, so you will be very unlikely undisturbed by neighbouring guests. Peace and relaxation is a given should you choose to holiday at Ewetree Cottage. Though when/if you require it, I am your friendly guide should you need assistance with anything. Just look for nature loving Bev. I will be around should you require a friendly, happy to help host.
