The beautiful Champlain Valley of Vermont is home to farms, orchards, camping, fishing, hunting, kayaking, golfing, skiing and so much more.
Sunset lake is located in Orwell about 15 minutes away for a nice refreshing swim. Lake Champlain is nearby for boating and fishing. We are 40 minutes from Middlebury Snowbowl, 50 minutes from Pico Mountain, and 60 minutes from Killington Mountain. The cabin is 25 minutes from the Middlebury College campus and 20 minutes from the Castleton University Campus. It's a wonderful way to take time to smell the trees and air and appreciate all the beauty around you. Come see what it's all about.
Attention: This is an off grid, cabin in the woods. It is a great place to get away and unplug. It does not have electricity. There is no where to plug in your cell phone (we recommend a car charger). There is cell service, it works best at the end of the driveway (verizon works best) but why look at your phone when you could be stargazing to more stars than most guests have seen in their whole life?! If you need to be connected throughout your stay, this is not the cabin for you.
This cabin is not for everyone, but those who come love it. It is a chance to escape the world, and listen to quiet. It gives you the chance to reconnect with your loved ones or friends. Pets love the cabin too! There is tons or room and land to explore outside, with more smells than any dog can smell in one trip! Please know that with nature comes, well nature. Depending on the time of year, there can be bugs at the cabin. There is wildlife you can see off the front porch. We see deer, bunnies, hawks, bald eagles, to name a few.
If you want all the comforts of home, this is not the right stay for you. If you want to stop, relax, and reconnect with others in nature, come and enjoy our cabins. There is no shower available at the cabin. There is plenty of parking for cars, trailers etc right next to the cabins. Again, there is NO electricity at the cabin, that is part of what makes it so special! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns. We are happy to help and answer!
