Step inside a one-of-a-kind escape where history and modern comfort meet. This beautifully renovated 1943 Alaska Railroad Boxcar has been transformed into a boutique Airbnb retreat that blends rustic charm with upscale amenities — all just steps away from fine dining, artisan espresso and waffles, boutique shopping, and a working hydroponic farm.

The space
This is a restored 1943 Alaska Railroad Mt McKinley Route boxcar. The exterior is entirely original. The interior has been remodeled, but we have some breathtaking vintage pieces inside that will surely leave you in awe.

Guest access
The entire space is yours to use. Please feel free to use the outdoor deck, and make use of the relaxing Nordic Spa Hot Tub with its own privacy corner. If you do use the hot tub, please let your host know, so they can clean it in between guest stays. The grey towels inside next to the clawfoot tub are for outdoor use. The white towels are for indoor use only.

Other things to note
Please note that we are still in the early stages of opening, and are making improvements. We welcome any suggestions that you have in order to improve overall guest satisfaction moving forward. Please feel free to give us constructive feedback that will aid us in making future stays better.

We have Tesla Superchargers just up the hill from the Boxcar. They are level 3 chargers, in addition to the level two chargers we have on sight.

We believe in transparency; the $300/night fee includes a cleaning fee and there is no extra charge for cleaning. The only fee that will show up upon checkout is taxes and the Airbnb guest fee.

I got my degree in Theater, traveled around the lower 48 for about a year and a half working professionally in theatre, and then came up to Alaska to be with my better half. I still perform with the local community theaters in town, but have since taken a step back from performance as intensely as I was doing after college.
