The space
Wave Walker Suites has been providing a peaceful retreat since 2010. Relax at this peaceful oceanfront home on the shores of Newbury Neck. Enjoy unprecedented privacy on 20 acres of woods and blueberry field. Awake each morning to the gentle sounds of the waves lapping at the shore. Relax in the gazebo with a good book or simply enjoy the sights and sounds of nature all around you. The 1000 feet of ocean frontage allows for tranquility not often found this close to Acadia , only 45 minutes away.
Our sea-side property has been in the family since Esther Greenstein Kettell bought the 83 acre farm in 1928. The original farmhouse burned down in 1968, but our family rebuilt and remained on site. In 1996 the cottage was built and run as a summer retreat. The Bed & Breakfast, now run as individual suites, was built in 2010, and ran as a traditional Bed and Breakfast for 10 years under the care of Donna and Phil Doyen. The cottage and suites are now run by their daughters: Karen, Beth, and Katherine.
Guest access
Guests can enjoy the firepit, gazebo, patio, pier style dock with seating area, and over 20 acres of field, woods and shore frontage.
During your stay
We will be happy to assist you with your excursion plans and questions. We are very familiar with the area and Acadia National park. Please reach out through airbnb or the phone numbers provided in your check in message, and on the welcome binders in your room
Other things to note
Breakfast is not included. Mini-refrigerator, toaster, microwave, Keurig, coffee, and coffee accessories provided. Dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and mugs are all included.
We can no longer offer kayaks or canoes, however The Activity Shop in Blue Hill will deliver them.
Elizabeth's room is named for my Grandmother, who kept the property in one piece despite numerous offers of subdivision. Thanks to her, we are able to enjoy 20 acres and 1 000 feet of shore facing MDI.

Neighborhood highlights
Wave Walker is located near the end of Newbury Neck, which is "off the beaten path" just a bit, but with the location come some wonderful benefits you won’t get at a typical location. Wave Walker offers an experience that is about nature, peacefulness and beauty. Yes, we are away from the din of Bar Harbor. You won’t see any city lights or street lights here. You won’t have a view of the parking lot and building just feet from your window. You will see and hear porpoise and seals from you private balcony overlooking the ocean. You will see what Downeast Magazine called the “Best Acadia View”. You will see “The Milky Way” on a clear night. You may decide to spend the day enjoying nature in one of our kayaks. You may decide to take a walk on the shore just 75 feet in front of the house. If the action of Bar Harbor is your preference then you can be there in 50 minutes. If shopping, restaurants, and other activities are your interest then you can be there in 25 minutes.
Yes, we are not your typical location, but that is what makes Wave Walker special.
