Welcome to the Starfish Suite at Tranquility.
Located approximately halfway between Ocean Ave. in Melbourne Beach and Sebastian Inlet, (~4 miles south of the Melbourne Beach Publix), the Tranquility Starfish Suite is a completely remodeled and beautifully decorated one-bedroom apartment.
Just steps from a secluded private beach, you will quickly realize why we call this property Tranquility. Stay with us once, and we are sure you will want to return.
The space
The "Starfish Suite" is one of four 625 sqft one-bedroom apartments at Tranquility. The property is located on the east side of A1A, just a short walk through the grass and over our private wooden crossover to our secluded beach on the Atlantic Ocean.
ADDITIONAL GUESTS
This unit is ideal for 2 guests, but a third can be accommodated with an inflatable queen-sized air mattress for an additional $25 per night.
PETS
This house is dog friendly for a maximum of two well-behaved dogs. We do not allow cats.
If you would like to bring a dog, please add it to your reservation when booking (we charge an $80 Pet Fee) and message me to confirm that you will never leave your dog unattended. Whenever you leave the house, your dog needs to leave with you.
Finally, and this should go without saying, but please clean up after your dog. We have a Dog Waste Station conveniently located in the grassy area on the west side of the building.
Guest access
LAUNDRY
In addition to this private one bedroom apartment, guests will have access to a shared laundry room. There are two washers and dryers available for guest use, and everything you need to do laundry is provided.
TV
Hulu + Live TV (for more than 65 live TV channels including local networks) is provided and will give you access to thousands of free movies and shows. You are also welcome to log in to any streaming services that you already subscribe to (Netflix, Disney+, and so on).
BBQ GRILLS
You are welcome to use our outdoor charcoal grills, but please note that housekeeping does not maintain these. Instead, we ask each guest to please clean the grills after use and replenish the charcoal as necessary. Basic grilling tools are provided, in addition to a chimney starter and lighter cubes.
EV CHARGING
Save yourself a trip to the Supercharger and get unlimited charging for your Tesla or other compatible EV (bring your own adapter) for just $25 per stay. Please message me to add this to your reservation.
Other things to note
CHILDREN
This property is NOT childproof by any means. We do not feel that is is suitable for young children who could hurt themselves or break things, but we will leave this decision to our guests' discretion. Older children will be fine.
PRICING
A note about pricing: You may notice that the daily rate fluctuates as you browse through my availability calendar. This is because I use a third-party software that automatically updates my listings' prices to ensure they remain competitive and stay BELOW the market rate for comparable properties in the area. Daily prices change due to season, hotel occupancy rates, last minute availability, and so on - basically supply and demand. It's a very nifty tool that ensures my prices are fair and leads to us having close to 100% occupancy all year long.
CANCELLATION POLICY/TRAVEL INSURANCE
Please note that we follow Airbnb's "Firm" cancellation policy. We are running a small business and are not able to make exceptions to this policy to provide refunds beyond the Cleaning Fee if you are unable to stay with us and need to cancel your reservation within 30 days of your arrival date for any reason, including any weather-related events, like hurricanes or red tide. It is also our policy to not accept any reservation change requests made within 30 days of your arrival date that involve moving your reservation dates into the future.
We strongly recommended that you obtain Travel Insurance for your trip, in case of any unforeseen circumstances that could lead to you cancelling your reservation. A simple online search for "travel insurance" will provide you with many options.
SECURITY CAMERAS
For your safety and security, as well as to protect our property and staff, we have installed several outdoor security cameras around the perimeter of the building. These cameras record video footage externally at all times.
Additionally, there is a motion-activated camera located inside the shared laundry room. Please be assured that this indoor camera placement has been specifically approved by Airbnb to ensure the safety of all shared spaces accessible to guests. Absolutely no cameras record any private spaces.
Privacy and Monitoring:
Security camera recordings are accessible only to the property owners and are never actively monitored in real-time. Footage is reviewed strictly when necessary to investigate specific issues that may arise. We are committed to responsibly using these security measures for safety purposes only. Your privacy is a priority, and we have implemented these systems to ensure peace of mind during your stay.
ITEMS LEFT BEHIND
Please double and triple-check the unit prior to leaving to make sure you have not left any personal items behind. Anything left in the unit after you check out will be discarded unless it it obviously something of value. If you do leave something of value behind, please contact me immediately so I can notify my housekeeping team. They charge $25 to return items left behind, which includes up to $10 of postage and packing materials. For any larger items that require additional postage, the cost to return them to you is $20 + exact postage.
PESTS
We have regular preventative pest control services at all of our properties and very rarely see any bugs because of this, but this is Florida, and the occasional pest (or cute gecko/anole) could find its way inside. In the unlikely event that you do see a bug, we would be happy to send pest control to retreat the property (this is part of the service we pay for), but you will not be eligible for any type of refund because of this.
MY OTHER PROPERTIES
The Riverview:
In addition to Tranquility, we also own The Riverview, a two story quadplex located on Riverview Drive in Downtown Melbourne. These fully-renovated units are smaller than the ones at Tranquility, but they are very popular due to their downtown location and affordable pricing. The property features three 400 sqft apartments and one 300 sqft studio, each with a comfortable queen bed and kitchen. Originally built in 1937, the units in this building have been fully remodeled and are stylish and modern.
Riverview Cottage:
Located next door to The Riverview is Riverview Cottage. This 600 sqft stand-alone house features two bedrooms, one bathroom, a full kitchen, a screened front porch, and a laundry room. We completed fully remodeling this house in January, 2022.
The Crane Creek Inn:
In late 2021, we purchased the historic Crane Creek Inn. Situated directly on beautiful Crane Creek, this property is located one block south of the heart of Downtown Melbourne and has a heated pool and stunning views.
