Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
A quiet cabin in a wooded area near the Deschutes River in the southern end of Sunriver. With 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, a large dining table, and a fully equipped kitchen, it's a perfect retreat for one or two families of all ages. This space is a mix of the old and the new, with updated, comfortable beds combined with the charm of the 1970s.

The cabin is located close to the river loop path, which is a beautiful path for walking, running, biking, and x-country skiing along the Deschutes River.

The space
DCCA #1707.

The Sunriver Deschutes House has been in our family since the late 80s. It has seen countless family Christmases, class trips, Spring breaks, and summer vacations. When we decided to make it available as a vacation rental, we put a lot of work into freshening it up with new paint and bedding, prioritizing comfort and convenience with families in mind. Our family vacation home is modest and certainly not fancy. But it is also clean and well maintained, and it's a wonderful place to relax with friends and family.

Our location is absolutely fantastic. We are off Meadow Road, not far from Sunriver Resort. The Village is a 5 minute drive, a leisurely 30 minute stroll along the paths, or a short bike ride. The house is on a shady big lot with lots of trees. That shade combined with thick insulation keeps it warm and cozy in the winter but nice and cool in the summer.

The rooms:
* Upstairs Cal King bedroom with a workspace (wireless Internet access included!)
* Upstairs Queen platform bedroom
* Downstairs Queen bed
* Downstairs Bunk bed room with toys, books, and changing table
* Upstairs full bath
* Downstairs split bath with full-sized washer and dryer
* Great room, combination dining room/living room with large dining table and chairs, a convertible queen-sized futon, a wood-burning stove, and a wide-screen tv with a Roku stick
* Full-sized kitchen fully equipped with stove, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, toaster, blender, and refrigerator.

As parents of small children, we have created the type of space that we needed when traveling with them, making our vacation home both kid and adult friendly. One of the bedrooms has a bunk bed, toy storage (with toys), kids books, and a changing table. We also have the following kid friendly accessories that can be used or left tucked away when not needed:

* Two portable cribs,
* a high chair attachment,
* a booster seat,
* a supply of plates, cups, and cutlery for small kids,
* attachments for gates at the top/bottom of the stairs
* safety plugs for outlets

There are snow shoes and cross country skis, boots, and poles available that can be used right off the back porch in the winter when there is snow, or on Mt Bachelor, a short drive away.

The outdoor closets also contain 3 adult bikes and 3 kid bikes. Additional bikes can be rented inexpensively in the Sunriver Village as needed.

The Sunriver Deschutes House includes 10 SHARC passes with rental. These are daily passes to the local Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic & Recreation Center. The SHARC includes indoor & outdoor pools, hot tub, disc golf, basketball court, Boche ball, youth climbing, tennis, and pickleball. (Many of these activities are only available seasonally.) The SHARC is about a 5 minute drive away.

Neighborhood highlights

Our cabin is on the southern end of Sunriver, off Meadow Rd, in the older part of Sunriver. We really love this quiet location near the river loop, not far from the Sunriver Lodge. Take long rambling walks through the trees and along the Deschutes River. We get so many compliments on our location within Sunriver; even people who have visited the area for years have not realized our little pocket of tranquility existed.

I am managing my family's vacation home in Sunriver, Oregon, which my dad has owned since the late 80s. This cabin has been integral in the making of many memories in my family over the years. We have worked very hard to make it a comfortable, relaxing, family-friendly space. I'm also raising four small children under the age of 13 while working remotely as a software developer. We travel, read lots of books, and love to play video games.
