Peace and quiet

Guests say this home is in a quiet area.
Relax and enjoy a stay at this unique and tranquil getaway. Stop, unplug and enjoy a seaside retreat in a quiet and unique village. Bring your four legged friend and take time to revel in surroundings which feel like a bygone age; when life was less hectic and with fewer distractions.

The space
Newly renovated throughout this individual two bedroom cottage offers a bright, fresh and cosy open plan living and dining space along with two spacious bedrooms and a good sized family bathroom.
Fitted with thoughtful and quirky pieces we have endeavoured to offer a seaside retreat that's comfortable, characterful and spacious enough for a family of four and their doggy companion, whilst ensuring guests can make use of its enviable beachside location.

Set in a small, quiet and unique community, Sea Surge is tucked just behind the sand dunes at Eccles-on-sea. This hidden away gem lies between the better known villages of Sea Palling and Happisburgh and thus, offers quieter sands and plentiful seaside walks away from the summertime crowds. Set right on the Norfolk Coastal Path you can easily set off from the front door onto a myriad of footpaths, quiet lanes and beach walks.

There is an enclosed garden with a patio and outside seating plus a picnic bench for dining - to the front of the property you will find our sunset bench, which allows you to take in the warmth of the setting sun (with a glass in hand of course)!

During the winter months the cottage's woodburner will keep you cosy after those wilder adventures which may leave you windswept and awakened by those fresh North Sea winds.

Sea Surge is our labour of love and we hope you enjoy this little corner of the Norfolk coast.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the whole property. There is ample on site parking for two cars aswell as a wrap around garden area, including enclosed lawned garden to the rear of the property.

Other things to note
* There is a large(ish) step down from the parking area to the main door which may be difficult for some guests to negotiate.*

A quiet and unique community nestled behind the sand dunes with an open and wide stretch of sand and safe bathing waters, lying just over the marram grasses.
Tucked away down a long country lane, passed a thatched church you find our little cottage amongst a myriad of similar properties, in a quiet seaside location.

Being tucked away from the crowds your nearest pubs and shops are a little distance away but certainly a pint is still accessible on foot!
For a spot to eat and nice pub food you can find 'The Star' in Lessingham (2 miles away + about 30 mins stroll along quiet lanes and footpaths), for a more decadent meal we recommend 'The Ingham Swan' which is 3 miles away.

Stalham has a small Tesco and all your essential needs covered including fish and chips, takeaways as well as the important doctors and dentist (4 miles away)
For seaside arcades, a small village shop and post office, pub, plus delicious hot donuts then Sea Palling is your go to (3.5 miles by car/ 60 minute walk via the Norfolk Coast Path), there is also a pub at Happisburgh 50 minute walk away or 3.5 miles in the car.

Within walking distance from the cottage, you will find the lovely cafe 'Smallsticks' at Cart Gap, which does light bites, breakfasts and delicious cake (15 minute stroll away, less than 1 mile and it is open 10am - 4pm everyday except Tuesdays + Wednesdays).
