Bring your bikes or golf cart to explore the Community of Atlantic, a sleepy Downeast village in Carteret County . She was once home to a bustling Commercial Fishing Industry with several seafood wholesalers operating here, but those days are gone and now most residents are retirees or second homes for owners elsewhere. Most come for the water so bring your boat/kayaks to take advantage of the outstanding fishing and beaches of Cape Lookout National Seashore that can be accessed by boat or ferry. Enjoy lunch at White Point Take Out. Dinner at Paddy's By the Sea or Wild Wills Revenge. No grocery store in town so make sure to stop along the way in Beaufort or New Bern. Dollar general is 5 miles away in Sea Level. Lovely restaurants and shopping in Beaufort, Morehead City and Atlantic Beach 25 mi. away. This is a great spot to rest for a couple days if you're hiking the Mountain to Sea trail or biking down Hwy 12 in Carteret County.
