The space
We are registered with the Belize Tourism Board as “Cayo Vista Guesthouse”, registration # HOT08641.

We are located on the edge of San Ignacio. It is about a 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk to downtown. We are one of the last forested areas that remains within the town (San Ignacio) limits. We are close to all amenities yet we still feel like we're a million miles away!

We provide free purified drinking water throughout your stay. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, creamer as well as basic kitchenware such as forks, knives, spoons, bowls, plates, cups, mugs, cutting board, can opener, scissors, shot glasses, wine glasses and a wine bottle opener. All of these items are available directly inside the guesthouse.

The pool deck is shared with the owners of the property. The pool is heated but we turn off the heater in the ‘hot months’ so that it’s not too hot. The pool deck is equipped with an outdoor kitchen, which includes a gas bbq grill, one gas burner, sink, outdoor fridge and ice maker. There are also dishes and pots and pans provided in the outdoor kitchen. Guests are welcome to use at their leisure, at any time.

We have howler monkeys that live in the forest that surrounds our property. We can’t guarantee a sighting but they are often hanging around in the trees. We provide binoculars so that you can hopefully catch a glimpse.

We have a 20kw Generac back up generator in case of a power outage (you’ll never be without A/C). We also have 10,000 litre back up water tank so if the town water gets cut off we still have water. Our goal is to never inconvenience guests with outages that are common in Central America.

*Our road….it was redone in 2024. There is still a portion that is rough (approx 200 meters) but it does not require a 4x4. All shuttle companies, tour companies and taxis are able to pick up and drop off from the property.

We also have a vacation rental property called Kane Villas, located in Mountain Pine Ridge. It is close to Caracol Mayan Ruins, Big Rock Waterfall, Rio On Pools and Rio Frio Cave. If you will be visiting that area please look us up and consider spending a night.

Guest access
There is a lock box to access the keys anytime after 3pm. Keys are put back in the lock box upon check-out.

Other things to note
We have many birds around the property. On any given day you will see toucans, aracaris, parrots, parakeets, vultures, as well as many other tropical birds. We provide a pair of binoculars and a “Birds of Belize” book in the guesthouse.

Where you’ll be

San Ignacio, Cayo District, Belize

We are located in the Cayo Vista area on the edge of San Ignacio. We are 2.2 km to Burns Ave/Downtown, the Welcome Center and the Farmers Market, 1.8 km to the Princess Casino and the Green Iguana Conservation Project. We are approx 1.5 km to Cahal Pech Ruins. Rolson's Cocina Cantina is less than 0.5 km and Xunantunich Ruins is 9 km away.

Our property is quiet and peaceful. You will not be kept awake at night by barking dogs, or woken up at the crack of dawn by crowing roosters!

Although we are still in San Ignacio you feel immersed in nature.
