The space
SALE DI MARE is located in the brand-new community, The Beach Club at Whalehead. Our newly built oceanside villa is right in the heart of Corolla and conveniently situated across the street from the iconic Currituck Lighthouse.
Our oceanside community offers many amenities, including:
-Community saltwater heated pool and poolside lounge deck (open April-October; one pool towel per guest is included during your stay)
-Fitness center
-Pickleball court
-Taco restaurant and bar, The Salty Rim
-Poolside cabanas available to rent, featuring a teak lounge sofa and/or chairs, teak side table, private TV, curtains, a misting fan, and mini outdoor fridge
-Fire pits
-One EV charging station in the garage (250-amp plugs). Note: Guests must supply their own portable EV charging cable and may only be charged while parked in the driveway. Charging inside the garage is not allowed.

Sale Di Mare, which translates to Sea Salt, is colorful, vibrant, and Mediterranean-inspired with beautiful added touches. Our villa is a three-bedroom home with two full bathrooms and one half bath. Two of the bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom (not the master bedroom).
Two bedrooms feature king-size beds, and the third bedroom has a queen bed. Bath and bed linens are included, along with shampoo, body wash, and hand soap. All bedrooms have smart TVs, dressers, nightstands, and walk-in closets.
The living room couch converts to a sleeper for two, allowing the home to sleep eight comfortably. We offer an outdoor shower, an outdoor space for dining and relaxing (including a BBQ), and a balcony off the master bedroom with comfortable, cozy cushioned chairs. You can even see the lighthouse beacon blink at night.
The kitchen is fully equipped with just about everything you need, including additional amenities such as a crockpot, air fryer, Keurig, regular coffee maker, Italian espresso pot, lobster pot, dinnerware, and more.
A complimentary starter kit is provided for your first night and includes:
-One roll of paper towels
-One roll of toilet paper per bathroom (2 rolls total)
-One kitchen sponge
-One dishwasher pod
-Two kitchen garbage bags
-A few Keurig coffee pods
-A few sugar packets and single-serve coffee creamers
-One laundry detergent pod
The dining area comfortably seats eight guests, while the kitchen island offers four counter stools and a wine fridge—providing a total of 12 seats for enjoying meals, conversations, and time together. The washer and dryer are conveniently located upstairs. The living room features a TV, and the villa includes Wi-Fi throughout the home for your convenience.
We also provide a garage for convenient storage of your beach gear, including chairs, coolers, boogie boards, and more. During your stay, you’ll have access to six beach chairs, two beach carts, and two UPF 50+ beach umbrellas to help make your beach days comfortable and enjoyable.
Parking is available in the driveway, with additional guest/visitor parking spaces located throughout the community. Please note that parking inside the garage is not permitted.
Our villa is conveniently located within walking distance of local dining at Corolla Light Town Center and just a short drive from the 4x4 beach, located about five minutes north, where you may catch a glimpse of Corolla’s famous wild horses roaming the shoreline. For peaceful sunsets and beautiful views, visit the nearby pier across the street at the Historic Whalehead Club, with the iconic Currituck Beach Lighthouse as your backdrop.
Sale Di Mare is also perfectly nestled between Duck and Carova, so you get charming shops and restaurants nearby along with the natural beauty the Outer Banks is known for.
Fishing, surfing, and swimming are just steps away. Corolla has one fully ADA-accessible beach access with a ramp for beach wheelchairs, located across from the Currituck Beach Lighthouse on Corolla Village Road — the same beach access our guests use. A lifeguard is on duty at the beach.
Corolla Surf Shop offers surfing lessons right on our beach, where the waves, sunshine, and salty ocean breeze create the perfect setting for a memorable coastal adventure. Just a short distance away, Historic Corolla Village invites you to slow down and wander—bike along quiet roads, stroll past charming shops, and take in the timeless beauty of this special seaside community. With its peaceful surroundings, natural beauty, and laid-back coastal charm, Corolla is truly a place to relax, reconnect, and create unforgettable memories.
Our villa is conveniently located near everything you need to enjoy your Corolla getaway. From grocery stores like Harris Teeter and Food Lion to local favorites such as Lighthouse Bagels and Seaside Farm Market, everyday essentials and coastal treats are always within easy reach. Pick up fresh local seafood, seasonal produce, and homemade baked goods, or spend a leisurely afternoon exploring TimBuck II, where you’ll find charming shops, restaurants, and family-friendly entertainment. Whether you’re grabbing your morning coffee, stocking up for a beach day, preparing a seafood dinner after a day by the ocean, or discovering the local shops and dining spots, you’ll love how easy it is to experience all that Corolla has to offer. Guest access
You have full access to the entire property plus the attached one car garage. Parking is not allowed in the garage, but parking in our driveway is permitted. An EV charging outlet (Level 2) is available in the garage. When charging your EV vehicle, please keep it parked in the driveway. NOTE* EV portable cable is NOT provided. Guests should bring their own cable for use during their stay.
