A beautiful 2 bedroom cottage in the most wonderful location - steps away from the beach and a few minutes walk to the centre of Whitstable. This fisherman’s cottage dates back to 1810, is full of period charm, and sympathetically decorated with antique, comfortable furniture. The cottage has a mature garden with side access, and is set down several steps meaning it feels nice and private. The cottage has steep stairs and some low ceilings.
The space
As you enter there is an open plan living room with a dining table comfortably seating 4. The kitchen is at the back of the cottage, with a stable door onto a beautiful brick patio, outdoor seating and Weber bbq for your habour fish haul!
Bedroom 1 is on the first floor, with a king size bed and an ‘Emma’ mattress. Next to the bedroom is the a large family bathroom with over bath shower.
A second small staircase (mind your head!) leads up to the second floor which is a large twin bedroom.
Guest access
Hourly trains run to Whitstable from St Pancras, Stratford International and Victoria. The journey is approximately 1 hr 15 minutes.
Parking can get busy in peak times. Theres street parking outside the cottage, free for 1 hour. Alternatively the nearest car park is Keam's Yard car park where you can pay by the hour and overnight.
Other things to note
There are steep steps down from pavement level to get into the cottage, and inside to get up to first and second floor. There is a stair gate (along with Babybjorn travel cot and bed guard) in the twin bedroom cupboard, but please be mindful that the stairs are potentially dangerous for children. Also, anyone relatively tall should watch out for the low ceilings!
