Souter Johnnie’s log cabin is nestled within the private grounds of Rockhall, a 16th-century tower house. It is located near Dumfries, and has a relaxing open plan living space. In the summer months you can fling open the large patio doors to the decking, and on those chillier days you can cosy up in front of the wonderful wood burner, perfect! Outside, you can enjoy your private decking with gas BBQ while appreciating the landscaped grounds adjacent to the cabin.

Souter Johnnie's is a delightful log cabin nestled within the private grounds of Rockhall, a 16th-century tower house in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway.
There are three steps to the entrance and the accommodation is all on the ground floor
Open plan living space
Living area: Smart TV, wood burner, patio doors leading to decking
Dining area.
Kitchen area: Electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge
Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed
Bedroom 2: Bunk (3ft) Beds
Bathroom: Cubicle shower, heated towel rail, toilet.
Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and free Wi-Fi included.
Initial fuel for wood burner included.
Decking with garden furniture and gas barbecue.
Extensive grounds adjacent to the cabin, including woodland with a stream running through it.
Private parking for 3 cars.
No smoking.

We allow guests to bring at most one dog. Please keep it on lead on property grounds, do not leave it alone in the property, and ensure it doesn't sit on the sofas or beds. If pet owners do not adhere to these terms and conditions additional charges for cleaning may occur.

Whilst you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Souter Johnnie’s Cabin you are only minutes by car from Dumfries and the surrounding countryside. This little corner of Dumfries and Galloway is truly beautiful, from the Solway Coast with over 200 miles of stunning and dramatic coastline with secluded little bays and sandy beaches, to the lush inland forests and hills. Throughout the region there is supreme mountain biking at the 7Stanes in nearby Mabie and Dalbeattie Forests, wonderful historical sites to visit, farm parks for the younger ones, some championship golf courses all around, plus shooting, and fishing. Dumfries is a short drive away where there are many shops, pubs and restaurants. After a day of exploration you can return to Rockhall and enjoy the evening just marvelling at the dark starry skies – bliss!
