This private and spacious studio guest house is located next to our residence. Nestled on 5 acres of towering redwood trees and lush huckleberry bushes in the Westhaven neighborhood, it's perfect for the single traveler or couple (but please note it is not suitable for children or those traveling with pets). An ideal base to explore the Redwoods National Forest, nearby Moonstone beach and scenic downtown Trinidad. The newly renovated ponds teeming with colorful koi make this place extra special!

The space
Fall asleep to the sound of a gentle waterfall and wake up to birdsong and a view of redwood trees. The little house has one queen size bed with empty drawer space underneath for guests to utilize. The well equipped kitchen has a full size refrigerator and stove to prepare meals to enjoy at the acacia wood dining table inside or outside on the deck overlooking the koi pond. Perfect spot for a romantic getaway.

Guest access
Feel free to walk through the woods (at your own risk as while there is a path, there are exposed roots, and uneven areas). Enjoy sitting by the ponds, we can provide you with koi food if you would like to feed the fish.

Other things to note
The last 1/2 of our road is a dirt road with some serious pot holes. Please drive slowly and with care, especially during rain. The street sign for Old Wagon Rd is missing, but there is a block of mailboxes and tall hedges at the corner of Old Wagon Rd and Old Wagon. GPS is accurate.

We are in the Westhaven neighborhood, tucked into the woods just minutes from the ocean. This location is a perfect base from which to explore the Redwoods State and National Parks. It is a 10 minute drive from The Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport (ACV) or to the quaint town of Trinidad. There you can find everything you need...grocery store, restaurants, a coffee shop (bring your own cup if you want it to go) museum, gift shops, galleries and a winery tasting room. We are close to Moonstone Beach, Trinidad State Beach, Trinidad Head, Big Lagoon, Sue-Meg State Park, and other great spots to hike, bike, SUP, kayak, surf and enjoy. The nearby college town of Arcata is home to Cal Poly Humboldt and has a lively farmer's market in the square on Saturdays and a host of restaurants and shops.
