Peace and quiet

LOOK NO FURTHER—this fairytale is REAL! Nestled on its own sandy wading beach (no seawall & NO sargasso) Mayan Bungalo tastefully blends magical whimsy with Belizean hardwoods, stone & thatch. Escape reality in comfort with AC, full kitchen and 65” smart TV. Themed from our exploration of Mayan ruins & jungle resorts. Located 4.5 miles south of San Pedro center. Peaceful area w/ bar & full restaurant steps away at Playa de Sala resort plus pool available with food or drink purchase there.

The space
Like stepping into a fairytale this beachfront bungalo is the perfect romantic retreat set on one of the few real sandy wading beaches around—relax with your toes in the water… (“Beachfront” in Belize often means seawall ) Watch sunrise over the bay from the lofted bedroom and sip coffee by the sea. This Modern Mayan Beach Bungalo WOWs with its beautiful stone, wood, light & thatch, and charms with a comfy king bed, well appointed kitchen, AC, and 65” smart TV. If this one’s booked check our other 2 air bnbs same gorgeous location! (Tiny House Paradise and Tarpon Bay Villa)

LOCATION & AMENITIES
We have beach chairs, over water hammocks and a paddle-board onsite.
Home is Located on Tarpon Bay, 4.5 miles south of downtown San Pedro, next to Playa de Sala (a small boutique resort with restaurants & bar) so food and drink are just steps away. Resort infinity pool is available for use with food/drink purchases. We are not affiliated with the resort just good neighbors. The south end is quieter, known for its safety and regularly patrolled by the SACNW Neighborhood watch.

The island is experiencing rapid expansion and development and there are new homes being built everywhere including our neighborhood. You may hear the sound of construction during work hours. Road conditions vary and can be bumpy at times. Road is currently being PAVED so conditions are improving rapidly!

Guest access
LOCATION: 4.5 miles south of San Pedro. You will need a Golf Cart rental for transportation. Last 2 miles is a dirt road and its condition varies dramatically due to weather and town grading schedule. The ride to town can range from 25 min. if smooth to 45 if very potholed and rough. Because of this, our location is best suited for those with a love of adventure in their souls.

This lofted bungalo is for your exclusive use. Your private patio is just steps from the beach and landscaped to maximize privacy from the other tiny home on the property. Enjoy the Sandy wading beach and palapa, overwater hammocks and beach chairs shared between our 2 properties. 1 paddleboard onsite for guest use. Additional paddleboards and kayaks available for rent next door.

While we are not affiliated, the boutique resort Playa de Sala next door invites all adult guests to enjoy thier restaurant, beachfront bar and rooftop bar. Thier Infinity pool is available for use to customers who make food or drink purchases from the resort. Sometimes they offer live music or events. We find the resort to be a tremendous asset to this location but do not set their policies or hours of operation.

Tours can pickup at our shared dock and Tarpon Bay is excellent for fishing, boating, & kayaking. (Swimming is less desirable due to the shallow turtle grass bottom).

Other things to note
MAYAN BUNGALO is LICENSED (HOT08948 as CARIBAY BREEZES) thru the BTB ( Belize tourism Board). BTB requires primary guests full name, total # of guests, city, state, zip code, passport country of issue and dates of stay. This should match what you will put on your customs paperwork upon entry to Belize.

Our beach is better for wading and sitting than swimming. Overwater shade palapa with hammocks and beach chairs are provided. There is turtle grass on the bottom further out (squishy) so water shoes are recommended for deeper wading. Our house manual has a list of fun pools, docks & beaches.

Bed linens & blankets provided. One bath towel set + 1 beach towel /guest provided.

Unlike a concrete house, the thatch roof allows sounds through. You will hear outside noises including birds in the morning and the waves on the beach. Rain can sound quite loud. You will also hear the sounds of the neighborhood. We are typically a quiet area but If you are a very light sleeper plan accordingly.

Take calculated risks and pursue your dreams! That's what we did when we fell in love with Belize and spontaneously bought land then designed and built our own tiny dream homes here. We live and work on Cape Cod and as recent empty nesters we travel as often as possible to San Pedro--the land of sunshine and happiness. Hope you will love our places as much as we do!
