The space
At Mad about Coco you will find whatever you are longing for when you are on holiday. Mad about Coco is a cosy and chilled Beach Resort with it’s own Garden Cafe on a huge property in the middle of Varkala’s cliff.
We are offering 15 rooms of different standards in several houses. All rooms have a balcony or a patio with a sitting area to relax, all rooms are equipped with ceiling fans and have their private bathrooms with shower, some with hot water, some equipped with AirCon.

The room rate includes:

Breakfast is available from 8 till 11AM.

Furthermore we are offering lots of outdoor areas to relax exclusively for all our guests. In the middle of the property between the guesthouses you’ll find our cosy garden lounge and a huge table. It’s the perfect place to relax in the shade, read a book or have a chai.
On our huge rooftop we are offering in the season (October till March) daily Yoga classes. You’ll also find a huge lounge with daybeds to relax. There’s always a nice breeze going and from there you can even enjoy the view of the ocean. 
The favourite place for almost all our guests is our cosy garden cafe, the heart of Mad about Coco. Here everyone is enjoying our delicious breakfast and snacks or a coffee with likeminded people from all over the world.
Our family is completed with our beloved dogs and a cat we rescued from the street. People who are afraid of dogs or with a pet hair allergy better book another place.
Even though you’ll find us in the middle of the cliff Mad about Coco is a quiet and peaceful oasis in the second row where you can relax and have a break from the sun and the hustle and bustle from the cliff, where you will find a number of restaurants with sea view and all kinds of shops at your doorstep. It takes only 1 minute to walk to the cliff and 3 minutes down the staircases to the main beach. 
The International Airport in Trivandrum is just a one hour drive by taxi from our house. A shuttle service will be organized for an extra charge upon request.
The Varkala Sivagiri train station is about 4 km from Mad about Coco. There are always rickshaws waiting in front of the train station to bring the tourists for 100rs to the Cliff. It takes about 10 minutes to our house.
Should you come from the helipad or the cliff path, you’ll find us between the restaurant Juice Shack and the hotel Hill Top.
We organise Ayurveda Treatments at AyurSoul, Stand-Up-Paddling- Tours on the Backwaters and day trips in the surrounding area. A taxi service and laundry service on-site are also available.
In the high season Mad about Coco is offering daily Yoga Classes and is hosting regularly Yoga Retreat Groups. Mad about Coco can also be rented for groups of up to 25 people. It is the perfect place to offer Yoga Retreats, teacher training or workshops.

Guest access
Our guests have access to our new garden with a few hammocks and relaxation areas and to our cosy lounge, the heart of the Resort. Here you can always meet us and other guests, read, relax, have water & tea for free...
You can also enjoy the beautiful view from our rooftop terrace and join our daily yoga classes (in high season).
Very soon we are opening our Garden Café where we are going to give cooking classes and serve you breakfast & lunch.

Other things to note
There are occasional power breakdowns in our area. In this unpredictable time, our service with regards to Wifi / fan & AC/ etc. is not available and water to rooms is limited.
The Internet in India may occasionally drop out at times as well, however, the solution to the problem is almost always in the hands of the provider. We will always do whatever is in our control to find a solution to the problem.

Neighborhood highlights

Varkala is a very relaxed traveller's hotspot in the south of Kerala especially for Yoga and Ayurveda lovers. Here you'll find three of the most beautiful beaches within India where you can also swim in the sea. For about 3 to 4 months in a year, during monsoon in the months between May and November, tourists might have limited access to the beach and swimming in the ocean is too dangerous and therefore prohibited.
There are many places to explore nearby and also some other beautiful scenic hotspots, all accessible within a planned day trip. Just to mention the most favourite places: Golden Island, Munroe Island, Jatayu Earth Center, Alleppey, Munnar, Kochi and in the south Trivandrum, Kovalam and Poovar.
Activities like surfing, kayaking, standup paddling and Yoga are available in the high season which is starting in October and goes until end of March.
Varkala is not a party place like Goa due to the alcohol restrictions in Kerala but nonetheless we have some nice restaurants where parties take place and we have smaller events planned throughout the high season.
Varkala is the perfect place to go slow, just relax and forget the time. But be careful, you might get addicted and want to extend your stay ;)
