Nestled in a secluded countryside setting just outside the picturesque village of Great Bardfield, this stunning family home offers the perfect escape for groups of up to 12 guests. Surrounded by peaceful farmland and open countryside, it’s an ideal retreat for relaxing with family and friends while enjoying the beauty of rural Essex.

Inside, the property combines spacious living with cosy countryside charm. The ground floor features a large open living area, fully equipped kitchen, games room/snug, utility room, family bathroom, washroom, and two comfortable double bedrooms. Upstairs, a beautiful galleried landing leads to a further two double bedrooms and an impressive master suite complete with its own en-suite bathroom.

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the living space with natural light and open onto a private courtyard — the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee, dine outdoors, or unwind in the luxury 4-person hot tub. The master bedroom boasts stunning views across the gardens and rolling fields beyond, where horses from the neighbouring Frenches Farm can often be seen grazing peacefully.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to the property which includes private parking for around 5 cars. They will also have access to the garden which includes an outdoor dining table and hot tub.

We are based opposite Essex's leading equestrian centre, Frenches Farm. Stables and arena hire are available to guests during your stay. Please contact us for more information. We regret single sex groups and parties of any kind are not prohibited at Kings Barn.

Set back from a quiet rural lane. The barn conversion is adjacent to Frenches Farm Livery which includes stables and arena hire. The nearest village of Great Bardfield is a short 5 minute drive away where you will find 2 pubs, a tearoom and a Co-Op. An 8 minute drive will take you to the village of Finchingfield, known as the most pictured village in England and a hotspot for cyclists. Kings Barn is a 12 minute drive from Great Dunmow, a 20 minute drive from Stansted Airport, and 20 minutes from Braintree where there is a train station with regular trains to London Liverpool Street.
