Originally a traditional Croft built in 1866, Iona Cottage offers self-catering accommodation for up to 6 persons all year round.

Iona Cottage is the perfect base to enjoy all that the Ross of Mull has to offer. Be it walking, cycling, kayaking, fishing, painting, photography, or simply to relax in peaceful surroundings. A large walled garden overlooks the bay.

Ideal for families, couples, and individuals. Maps/Reference books are available for your convenience.

The space
Each room adorns sea views of Loch na Lathaich across a large walled garden. Look out for Seals & Otters in the bay.

3 bedrooms consist of a Double and Twin upstairs with coom ceilings (please note these rooms are small and in the roof space of this traditional cottage), and King downstairs.
All the rooms have electric thermostatic heaters and electric blankets. Linen and towels are included.

The bathroom has a 3-piece suit & shower.

The kitchen is well equipped and includes electric cooker/oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, hand blender, kettle, toaster & table.

The Living room is L-shaped with a Woodburner and Dining area. Coal & Logs are included.
FreeSat 32" TV (Bluetooth/HDMI/USB).
Wifi is available.

There are Maps, Reference Books and a pair of Binoculars for your convenience.

Baby friendly, a travel cot, high chair attachment, jungle gym and socket safety covers are available on request.

Guest access
Free Parking outside the gate (max 2 vehicles). The best way to get around the Ross is by car. It takes approximately 20mins to walk to the village of Bunessan. The area is also good for cycling.

Iona Cottage is located close to the Isle of Iona, a variety of white sandy beaches and boat trips to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. All are easily reached within a short driving distance.

Other things to note
Wifi is available through EE mobile. Data is currently limited and not suitable for large downloads. Please contact me in the first instance if you require the use of large amounts of data.

Smart TV works via the Internet. If you require BBC etc this may be accessed via BBC I player.

Please note, the ability to call, send/receive data through mobile phones is limited in places throughout the Ross and Isle in general.

Neighborhood highlights

The area is quiet and peaceful. Seals and Otters can at times be spotted in the bay.
A short walk away are the Ardtun Fossil Leaf Beds and good examples of the Columnar Basalt Cliffs ubiquitous to the region. The walk also offers great views towards Staffa & the Treshnish Isles, Loch Scridain, the Burg & Ben More.

A working croft has sheep, cattle & goats in adjacent fields. Please keep the gate closed .
Bunessan village has all essential amenities including a medical practice, grocery store/post office, hotel bar, bistro, charity shop and historical centre.
