The Homer Roundhouse is a perfect lodging choice for a couple, a small family or 4-5 adults. Located on a small road across from the beach yet hidden in town, this first class yurt is wonderful. All modern appliances and conveniences. You'll love it!
We only book 3 night minimum stays on our calendar until March 1st then we open our calendar up to fewer days. Please know that there is so much to do and see in the Homer/Kachemak Bay area that 3 nights should always be the preference.

The space
You will be staying in a round house. Unlike yurts set up for back-country experiences, the Homer Roundhouse is totally modern and comfortable. It's, most likely, the only yurt in the world with a bay window. A family of five will feel very comfortable. The bathroom is private while all sleeping spaces are in view of each other; bedroom with a queen, loft with a comfortable pad and living room with a single futon. There is no totally private room except for the bathroom.
Please let me know how many sleeping spaces you will need so that we care prepare accordingly. Also let us know if you are bringing a pet. We prepare and clean the house differently depending on amount of people and pets. There is a fee for extra guests and pets which you'll find in the payment section.

Guest access
You have plenty of on-site parking space. A walkway up to the open door with keys on the table. Total privacy and quiet! The 'roundhouse' is across the small road from beach access, wonderful views and an easy walk to all town restaurants, galleries and activities.

Other things to note
LAND OF THE MIDNIGHT SUN:
Because the Homer Roundhouse is a yurt with a dome skylight, it's impossible to totally darken the sleeping areas. Please let us know if that is a concern. We can supply you with eye masks for sleeping. We will do what we can to make your stay pleasant. And when the sun does go down, it's a wonderful time to gaze at the stars from the loft.

PETS:
Pets are not to be left in the house when you are gone. Being in a pat cage doesn't stop the protective and/or lonely barking.

CAMPERS:
There is room for a camper/RV to be backed into the parking area in front of the 'roundhouse.' There is no septic but electric is available. We charge $40 which covers the space, electric and utilities used in the 'roundhouse.'

Neighborhood highlights

The Homer Roundhouse has a partial view of the mountains and Kachemak Bay through some trees. Just a stones throw down the road you stand on the bluff with a view of the bay, mountains, and volcanoe. It's gorgeous. Make a fire down on the beach for sunset, you might never leave.

I drove up the Alcan with a piano in the back of my stepvan in 1981. I performed at the Talkeetna Moose Dropping Festival where I met Sharon in the potato salad line. We danced all night long. We moved to Homer in 1984. I perform a solo piano/multimedia show out on the Homer Spit during the summers without pandemics. I built the "Homer Roundhouse" ten years ago cause "I love yurts!"
