The space

To Book, two good reviews from previous stays with Airbnb are required. (See below for explanation)

Our earth-sheltered, fantasy architecture home is perfect for a wee adventure! Charming styling, filled with antiques and special touches that will transport you. Our design/build project combines old-world charm mixed with all modern conveniences. The cottage has a great view of the valley from the walk-on roof and is only a 5-minute stroll down meadow paths to the Crossman's General Store and town services.

Experiences! The Quest, The Hunt, and an Archery Challenge. Puzzles, board games, darts, a player piano, arts and crafts, bocce, and more provided all to help you escape technology!

Accommodations: Behind the red door is the living area: kitchen, living/TV, dining, library, sleeping nook where there is a queen bed (soft sleep) which adjoins a full bath with a claw foot tub. Behind the round green door is the 'Double Dragon Pub,’ which has a full queen Murphy bed (med or firm sleep) with a full bath with shower. Games galore, bar, sitting, player piano, TV, game table, dance area. The portico outside for dining, includes a claw foot tub for a hot soak and stargazing as well as an outdoor hot shower and hammock. A fire-pit for sing-alongs is outside the pub. There is a landline as phone service is spotty...best service is AT&T...but WiFi calling will work. Fiber optic wifi, 2 smart TV...but consider treating yourself to a tech-free weekend. Float on a olympic sized spring-fed pond, May, June & July...if the Canada geese have moved on. Your well-behaved, non-shedding dog under 25 lbs. is welcome with a fee and a refundable deposit.

Why we require two reviews to book ~
After any Airbnb stay, you will write a review on your stay and the host will also write a review on your care of their home as well as your level of communication, following the house rules etc. The point of the reviews for the host is to determine the level of cleanliness and respect of property that guests showed in previous stays. (Note: many Airbnb listings are not investment properties but private homes with treasures, that people, like us, wish to share.) Likewise, the reviews written about us by our guests provide you with important information... is the property is clean? were the hosts considerate?... the stay is worth the money? We have over 125, 5-star reviews for you to feel secure about booking this space with us while we only require two from you. Don't take it personally...we don't know you and that is the point : ) !

Home Limitations: Is this a good fit? Guests who are large in size (vertical or horizontal) will not be comfortable in this space...the toilet stall is very narrow, antique chairs small and fragile, tight spaces include: bedroom sleeping nook, pass-through to bar, kitchen cooking/seating area & dining area. Few low doorways.

Will this property ever be for sale? We are at retirement age...so yes! Get ready to consider making your fantasy dream come true! (Request info in advance when you book by sharing your home address.)

I am a jack of all trades/engineer/building science and my wife Cynthia is a designer, who as an idea person keeps the projects big and small coming... luckily we enjoy our time working together to make some of our dreams come true. Cynthia is no longer a traveler after being in one too many flying 'mishaps' and so now we look forward to meeting travelers from near and far by hosting your Hobbitish Holiday...what we hope will be an adventure of special magnificence!
