Welcome to Hendred Farm Huts. Escape from the stress and daily grind. Treat yourself to a relaxing stay in 'Martha" our beautifully situated shepherds hut. 'Martha' combines a traditionally hand crafted interior with the comforts you would expect from a modern glamping experience. 'Matha' sits in parkland on the historic Hendred Estate in the village of East Hendred which is in the heart of glorious South Oxfordshire countryside, a stones throw from the Ridgeway and only 55 minutes from London

The space
We have endeavoured to squeeze in as much as we can to make your stay cosy and comfortable without cluttering. 'Martha' has a painted finish, topped off with fairy lights and bunting!!! Snuggle up in a fabulous double bed, compact kitchen area with fridge and gas hob, drop down dining table and chairs, gas shower, WC, sink and log burner. Outside you can enjoy a fire pit with grill, table and chairs, to watch the sun setting over the village.

Guest access
Guests will have sole access to their hut but will share the surrounding parkland with guests staying in our other two shepherds huts 'Agatha' and 'Dorothy'.
The huts have parking on the edge of the field. We ask guests not to drive up to the huts to ensure grassland, flowers and nature are not disturbed.

Other things to note
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Keep in mind it’s a shepherds hut, so leave the Great Dane at home!!!
Book your table for supper at The Eyston Arms.
No smoking within the huts.
Welcome hampers can be ordered direct from Hendred Stores.
Tea, coffee, a pint of milk, sugar, salt and pepper will be provided.

Neighborhood highlights

East Hendred has a myriad of foot paths and cycle routes for you to enjoy during your stay, as well as the 5000 year old Ridgeway National trail and ancient Icknield Way Roman road. If you want to use us as a base, Oxford, the Cotswolds, Bicester Village and the River Thames at Goring and Streatley are all within easy reach by car and worth a visit. The fridge can be stocked from supermarkets in Wantage, the local farm shops or East Hendred’s very own Village Store. You will be spoilt for choice at meal times, our own hugely popular pub, The Eyston Arms is only a two minute walk away but the whole area is well serviced with plenty of country pubs, cafes, farm shops and restaurants to cater for all tastes and budgets.
A fish a chip van comes to the village on a Friday and a wood fired pizza van comes to the village shop on a Thursday. For both you need to pre order.
The huts are located in parkland on the fringe of the village. They benefit from being both rural and within easy access of village amenities.
We do ask that guests respect our neighbours and rural environment keeping noise down after 11pm.
