Thoughtful design throughout

Guests describe it as one of the best Airbnbs they've stayed in, with many praising the thoughtful design
Welcome to The Forestry Department — our 5 bedroom, 5 bath Lodge in downtown McMinnville. It’s a playful nod to the Pacific Northwest with a cedar sauna, a cozy fireplace, an outdoor firepit + dining area, and plenty of space to gather. Whether you’re wine tasting with friends, celebrating something big, or just craving time together, this is your home base. Built in 1910, lovingly renovated, and — as one guest put it — “the coolest Airbnb I’ve stayed at.”

The space
Every detail is designed for comfort and connection:

· 5 bedrooms, each named for a native PNW tree
· 5 bathrooms (4 en suite, 1 just down the hall)
· Feather duvets, plush robes, and vegan bath products
· Hand-crafted cedar sauna
· Firepit, Adirondack chairs, charcoal grill, and outdoor dining for 10 under twinkle lights

No TV—just cozy spaces, good lighting, and room to reconnect.

The Bedrooms

Each room has its own look and vibe, but all are designed with comfort and character in mind:

· Sitka Spruce Room – Built-in XL twin bunk beds (perfect for kids or solo sleepers)
· Lodgepole Pine Room – Nods to Lewis & Clark, with a cozy full-size bed
· Douglas Fir Room – Canopy bed, forest tones, and a plush queen bed
· White Oak Room – Wine country style and a comfy queen bed
· Oregon Ash Room – Vintage charm with a queen bed and clawfoot tub

Each bedroom has its own private or dedicated bathroom, plus soft bedding, robes, and little touches to make your stay extra comfortable.

Location Perks
Walk to everything!

· 3 blocks to historic Third Street
· Steps from tasting rooms like Montinore, Bjornson, Eyrie, HiFi, R. Stuart, Troon, and more
· Farmers market just 2 blocks away (in season)
· Coffee, shops, and restaurants all within a short stroll

Feel-Good Bonus
🌲 Every booking plants a tree in Oregon!
We’ve partnered with One Tree Planted to give back to the forests we love.

✅ The Perks
Cedar Sauna
Custom built by a local craftsman—perfect after wine tasting or a crisp Oregon morning.

Backyard Vibes
Firepit, string lights, Adirondacks, charcoal grill, and a long table for memorable meals.

Downtown Location
You’re right on the edge of the action—close to everything, with room to breathe.

⚠️ The "Hey, Just So You Know… "
You’re on a Busy Street
There’s 2-lane traffic out front—but that’s the tradeoff for being so close to downtown. We’ve got white noise machines in every bedroom to help with peaceful sleep.

There's No Washer/Dryer
But there’s a laundromat right across the street.

There's No TV
More space for conversations, games, and soaking in the vibes.

Sound good?
Great — we look forward to hosting you!

Guest access
Guests have access to the whole 5 bedroom Lodge, including sauna, patio and private parking.

Other things to note
🪵 Firewood for the Firepit
Firewood isn’t provided, but it’s easy to grab at local stores like Roth’s or BiMart, just a few minutes away.

☕ Coffee Setup
We provide both regular and decaf, sourced from one of our favorite local roasters in McMinnville. You’ll find:

· A traditional drip coffee maker
· A French press
· An electric grinder for the perfect cup

📷 Security
For everyone’s safety, we have two outdoor security cameras on the front porch—one facing the front yard, and one covering the back. There are no cameras inside the home.
