Bright and breezy, Anacahuite is a large, bright, and airy room with private bath in El Tamarindo at Casa Calamondin family complex, a short two-block walk from Playa La Ropa in Zihuatanejo. Guests have easy shared access to the main house kitchen next door and lower front terrace with small dipping pool and free WiFi.

The space
Anacahuite has plenty of floor space, a full private bath with shower, and glass doors opening onto a balcony surrounded by tropical vegetation. The unit is equipped with two individual beds that can be joined into one king, a desk, table and chairs, mini-fridge, and well-stocked bookshelves. There is a small couch/daybed that can sleep one extra person.

The room has easy shared access to a wide front terrace with rocking chairs, outdoor dining table, free Wifi, and a small Jacuzzi-like dipping pool. Although it is close to street level, there are a few stairs to negotiate to reach the front terrace and room access.

Guests in this room are allowed kitchen privileges to the main house kitchen for occasional light food prep. Kitchen use must be coordinated with other guests and family when in residence

Four separate buildings house independent apartments and rooms in the El Tamarindo at Casa Calamondin family complex that winds up a slope from street level. A pathway and a series of exterior stairways wind up through the garden areas to access each of the modules. Cozy comfort and low-key relaxation characterize the home.

There are two entrances onto different sections of the property, and guests are able to access the rental units via exterior walkways and stairs without having to go through the main residence. Every room and apartment has independent access from the exterior.

For outdoor lounging, guests have shared access to a rooftop palapa-thatched terrace that overlooks the tropical greenery of La Ropa and affords lovely sunrise and sunset views.

There is free WiFi in the rooms and on both the upper rooftop terrace and the lower terrace of the main house.

During your stay
Family is sometimes in residence in the main house, and other guests and family may share the common terraces and dipping pool, so at times we do all hang out together. Generally, though, peaceful relaxation and few human distractions reign within the property. Please respect the privacy of others on the property and keep noise to a minimum.

Felisa, the house manager, checks in daily and is available should the need arise. Both Felisa and Carol are available by phone (calls, texts, or Whatapp) and email.

Other things to note
Once-per-week bed linen and towel changes are included. Your room will be delivered thoroughly cleaned, and we include an initial supply of drinking water, soap, and toilet tissue for your arrival. Extra drinking water is available for purchase.

We do not have television or public land-line phone service at El Tamarindo.

We do not have public laundry facilities on the property. There are reliable local laundry services available that provide will pick-up and deliver. Ask us.

Zihuatanejo has been my home since the mid-1990s, although my family and I first fell in love with it in 1969 when it was but a tiny and dusty fishing village. El Tamarindo is a multi-unit family complex that I administer with the valuable help of Felisa, who is hands-on with guest care on site and greatly appreciated by us all. My sisters and other family members are sometimes in residence. I do not live at El Tamarindo but drop by often.
