The Skybox Suites are a 2-bedroom tiny home w/ full kitchen, bath, large, private stargazing deck, 2 balconies, & epic views of Joshua Tree. 1 of 3 units for rent on the El Ranchito compound, it is the most private, built from a 45' long container. The airborne feel of the bedrooms makes it an-only-one-of-these-on-the-planet, high end rustic experience. Also on the property: lap pool, hot tub, 4 person full spectrum sauna, hammocks, lounges & 2 outdoor showers.

The space
Please note: the "Entire Place" designation refers to our guests having the entire Skybox Suites tiny home to themselves, and it is indeed a self-contained, standalone studio home, with super comfy Queen-sized beds, private bathroom, kitchen, patio, and super cool AC. This luxurious tiny home is one of the three on the property and comes with full access to the common areas: lap pool, hot tubs, outdoor showers, fire tables, hammocks, patios and gorgeous environs, perfect for every kind of activity from meditative chilling and stargazing to action-adventuring. Custom designed by artist John Henry Jones, the Desert Skybox Container Suites is unlike any other two-bedroom tiny home on the planet, constructed out of one massive, 45' long shipping container, with half a million miles of ocean travel under its belt. Two private bedrooms with private balconies for both, suspended in mid air with unparalleled views of the Joshua Tree and Wonder Valley areas. The airborne feel of the bedrooms (each with their own private balcony): the Sunrise (East facing) and Sunset (West facing) suites, adds to this sui generis, totally unique resort experience. The Hot Tub Cabana area is completely enclosed, with no sightlines in, and locks from the inside for our guests' privacy.

Guest access
-- A note from El Ranchito Management about the Coronavirus situation -- even though there has yet to be a single case of Coronavirus in our county, we are taking it seriously and have adopted new, stringent cleaning policies to keep our guests safe; including using isopropyl alcohol and bleach spray on all surfaces, providing unopened, packaged soaps and shampoos. We ask that all our guests join us in combating this virus by following the CDC guidelines regarding hand washing, not touching our faces, covering our faces when we cough and sneeze, and using alcohol and bleach spray that we provide for all our guests. We want to make sure we augment all of the above with our already-greatest virus-fighting strength: our seclusion.

Both suites have their own keys for the door locks, and the wide, front slider entry door has a hasp lock, bring your own combination lock, or we'll supply you with one.

The hot tub area is completely enclosed, with no sightlines in, and locks from the inside for our guests' privacy.

Quiet hours are from 9:30PM till 10AM.

PETS ALLOWED FOR A $69. SURCHARGE EACH. We are animal friendly people and have an enclosed back yard for canine guests, including a doggy sun lounge, so they can enjoy the desert without butting up against desert creatures (But they can't be chewers or diggers, or aggressive types, and they MUST be housebroken). If interested in bringing pets, please get in touch before your visit and let us know how many pets your are bringing and we'll make arrangements including payment. It is not allowed to arrive with pets without making prior arrangements. You must clean up after your pets and you must keep them with you for the entirety of your stay..

The Desert Sky Box Container Suites at Joshua Tree Ranchito Regio de la Playa is a place for artists, writers, musicians, meditators, yoga enthusiasts, athletes, and Joshua Tree National Park visitors. The ranchito is nicely appointed and ecologically friendly. All amenities (i.e. biodegradable and earth friendly soaps, toilet paper, ec.) are provided for our guests. We ask only that our guests treat our special, quiet, and secluded place as they would their own, and leave it when they leave the way they would like guests in their home to leave theirs.

* Kitchen/bathroom -- Please never pour grease or other carbon based matter into the sinks, it will destroy the gray water system.
* BBQ and Firepit -- Please don't operate the BBQ grill or make fires in the fire pit area without first discussing with us so we can give you the info you'll need. We know that potentially sounds lame but we've had situations where people didn't know how to work these things and didn't let us know, and made mistakes that caused stress, and no one wants that. If you're an outdoorsy grillmaster (Tom Hanks in "Cast Away" impression: "I have made fire") type, we welcome you, and please just chat with us per our setup, and all will be well. If you're more on the city slicker side, without that kind of experience... welcome, and same thing, discuss with us and he'll get you dialed in. If at any time during your stay you are unsure, even after the primer, we will be as close as your phone/text; don't be shy, just call or text and ask: 'hey how's this work again?'
* Firewood -- Firewood can usually be purchased at grocery stores in town, but we have a service that can deliver for you extra large, premium firewood bundles to the ranch for $20. each. Let us know if that's of interest to you and we'll make the arrangements.
* BBQ -- Please be sure to always turn the gas off/on at the tank prior to, and after, use. We provide half a tank as part of the rental. If you use more than that, it's a simple matter to go into town and refill it, or to purchase a new, full tank load from us for $30.
* Hot tub -- The hot tub will be set at 102 degrees. There are temperature up/down buttons that are self explanatory so you can adjust the temp to your liking. That's all you have to do. Please also always close and secure the hot tub cover. If we get wind and it's not safety clipped, it could go bye bye. Please clean as much sand off as possible before entering the jacuzzi (and please take a quick shower in one of the outdoor showers before entering either the pool or jacuzzi). Please never unplug the jacuzzi for any reason.

Please don't hesitate to let us know during your stay if there's anything we can to make it more wonderful. This is the most important thing to us. We can't help, fix or otherwise remedy that which we do not know about.
Thanks
