Imagine waking up in a hand-painted, solar-lit bus surrounded by beautiful trees, birdsong just outside the window, and 110 acres of forest trails waiting at your door. A one-of-a-kind stay tucked into 110 acres of balsam fir forest at Celebration Tree Farm Wellness Center. Private saltwater hot tub included. Art supplies, yoga mats, wellness offerings, and peace & quiet await you. Your stay directly supports a living mission of earth connection, community, and personal renewal.

The space
The Celebration Bus is tucked into a private spot on the farm amongst the trees, ~175 ft away from our main house.

Set on the land of Celebration Tree Farm Wellness Center in Durham, Maine, this artful solar-powered retreat is woven through with thoughtful details, original artwork, and the intention that every guest leaves more connected — to the earth, to themselves, and to something larger.

Your Space
This charming bus is surprisingly roomy and comfortable, decorated with Earth Mandala photography and original artworks. It sleeps up to 4 guests with one queen bed, a couch that converts to a long twin, and an indoor hammock.

Inside you'll find:

• A full kitchen setup: two-burner butane stove, tea kettle, cooking equipment, and dinnerware
• A refrigerator for perishables
• Yoga mats and blocks for morning practice in the forest
• Art materials for free creative exploration
• A self-guided Earth Mandala workshop — create your own nature mandala and connect with the living world around you

Just outside: a private outdoor shower, composting toilet, fire pit, propane grill, and running water at an outdoor sink fed by our artesian well. If you've been curious about simpler, more grounded living, you'll feel right at home.

The Saltwater Hot Tub — Included
Soak under the stars in our saltwater hot tub. Hot tub access is included with every stay — no add-on needed. It's a favorite spot for guests at dawn and dusk, surrounded by the quiet of the farm and forest.

110 Acres to Wander
Our trails wind through wild balsam fir forest, past blueberry and raspberry patches, along a babbling brook. Wander as long and as far as you like — this land is yours to explore.

About the Earth Mandala Experience-
Throughout the bus and property, you'll encounter Earth Mandalas — intricate circular artworks made from natural materials gathered from this land. Each one is a meditation on pattern, impermanence, and our place within nature's larger design.
Your self-guided workshop kit includes everything you need to make your own: a field guide, gathering suggestions, and prompts for reflection. No art experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to slow down.

Earth Art Sanctuary — Opening in July!
This summer, Celebration Tree Farm opens the Earth Art Sanctuary — a forest sculpture park winding through our 110 acres, where original artworks by invited artists emerge from the trees, mark a brook crossing, or rest quietly in a sun-lit clearing. Bus guests will have trail access and be among the first to experience it.

Workshops, Events & the Celebration Yurt-
Celebration Tree Farm pulses with community life throughout the year — and your stay can be part of it. The farm hosts a rotating calendar of workshops and events in our barn and yurt: yoga intensives, creative arts gatherings, seasonal celebrations, and the beloved Celebration Tree Cabaret — an evening of music, performance, and community in our barn that guests consistently describe as one of the most unexpected and delightful nights of their trip.
The yurt serves as a gathering space for smaller workshops — movement practices, wellness sessions, creative circles, and more — set within the gardens and just steps from the bus. Whether you want to join in or simply soak up the atmosphere of a farm alive with creative energy, the choice is yours.
We recommend checking our event calendar when you book — many guests time their stay specifically around a Cabaret night or workshop weekend. Ask Burd what's coming up; she'll help you find the right match.

Your Stay Supports Something Bigger
Celebration Tree Farm Wellness Center is more than a destination — it's a living experiment in land stewardship, community care, and ecological relationship. This land is held by Land in Common, a community land trust, ensuring it remains in community hands for generations. When you stay here, you're not just renting a space — you're participating in a larger story about what it means to live well on the earth, together.
Your stay directly supports the farm's mission: regenerative land care, accessible wellness, community arts, our new Earth Art Sanctuary (coming summer 2026), and a growing program of events and workshops that bring people into genuine connection with the land and each other.

Guest access
The Celebration Bus and its outdoor area — fire pit, private shower, composting toilet, and the surrounding grounds — are yours alone for your stay. You're also welcome to walk the organic gardens, pick from the berry patches in season, and explore all 110 acres of trails through the balsam fir forest.
The saltwater hot tub is included with your stay. Wellness offerings, the Earth Oven, and harvest baskets are available by request — just reach out to Burd before or during your stay.

Other things to note
We have a very friendly dog named Ginger who loves saying hi to guests and may come visit if you are hanging out outside the bus!

Cell service may be spotty on the bus. We have wifi you can use in and around the barn. It does not reach the bus.

Neighborhood highlights

We moved to Durham for its spacious beauty and quiet, as well as its proximity to great cities and the ocean. We are 30 minutes to Portland, and only 20 minutes to Brunswick, Freeport, and Lewiston. While you're in the country, these cities and towns offer a variety of wonderful restaurants, breweries, shops, and parks nearby.
Here in Durham there is one small gas station and variety store where they also make sandwiches and sweet treats. Old Crow Ranch and Replenova Farm both have great farm stands with a variety of vegetables, meats and other products.
The closest parks are Runaround Pond and Durham River Parks both about two miles away and Bradbury Mountain is only 10 minutes away and beaches and the ocean are 20-25 minutes away. In any direction, you go when you leave our farm, you will find beautiful lakes, ponds, rivers and streams with walking and hiking trails.
