Welcome to the Crane Creek Inn. Built in 1925, the historic property is situated directly on beautiful Crane Creek, just one block away from everything Downtown Melbourne has to offer.
This studio apartment is our smallest suite and has a private entrance from the pool deck. All outdoor areas of the property are shared with other guests. Guests staying in this suite do not have access to the main house.
The space
The Manatee Suite is located on the pool deck and is only steps from our full size, heated pool. This room has a beautiful queen bed, a walk-in shower, a pedestal sink, and a large dresser.
Please Note: Guests staying in this suite do not have access to the Main House, and breakfast is not provided.
Guest access
SHARED AREAS
With the exception of the porches/patios located directly outside the entrance to each suite, all of the outdoor areas of the property are shared by all guests and the owners. Please be respectful of other guests at all times.
TV
Hulu + Live TV (for more than 65 live TV channels including local networks) is provided and will give you access to thousands of free movies and shows. You may also log in to any streaming services that you already subscribe to (Netflix, Disney+, YouTubeTV and so on).
HEATED POOL
Our gas pool heater is set to keep the pool at or above a comfortable-but-still-refreshing 80 degrees all year round. If you would like the pool to be a little warmer during your stay, please reach out and we will increase the temperature a few degrees for you.
THE TRAIN
There is an active train track about 500 feet to our east. Many guests enjoy watching the train cross the trestle that spans Crane Creek from our back yard, but be aware that the train does sound its horn repeatedly as it passes through Downtown Melbourne, including a few times late at night. The majority of our guests have no issues with this, but approximately 10% of those we have asked have reported being awakened when it passes by overnight. We provide white noise machines in all of our rooms that will drown out this sound, but if you are a light sleeper and prefer to sleep in complete silence (no white noise), our Inn - and most places in Downtown Melbourne, for that matter - may not be the property for you.

This property is not suitable for children. Ages 21+ only, please.
PRICING
A note about pricing: You may notice that the daily rate fluctuates as you browse through our availability calendar. This is because we use a third-party software that automatically adjusts our listings' prices to ensure they remain competitive and stay BELOW the market rate for comparable properties in the area. Daily prices change due to season, hotel occupancy rates, last minute availability, and so on - basically supply and demand. It's a very nifty tool that ensures our prices are fair and leads to us having close to 100% occupancy all year long.
CANCELLATION POLICY/TRAVEL INSURANCE
Please note that we follow Airbnb's "Firm" cancellation policy. We are running a small business and are not able to make exceptions to this policy to provide refunds beyond the Cleaning Fee if you are unable to stay with us and need to cancel your reservation within 30 days of your arrival date for any reason, including any weather-related events, like hurricanes or red tide. It is also our policy to not accept any reservation change requests made within 30 days of your arrival date that involve moving your reservation dates into the future.
We strongly recommended that you obtain Travel Insurance for your trip, in case of any unforeseen circumstances that could lead to you cancelling your reservation. A simple online search for "travel insurance" will provide you with many options.
ITEMS LEFT BEHIND
Please double and triple-check the unit prior to leaving to make sure you have not left any personal items behind. Anything left in the unit after you check out will be discarded unless it it obviously something of value. If you do leave something of value behind, please contact me immediately so I can notify my housekeeping team. They charge $25 to return items left behind, which includes up to $10 of postage and packing materials. For any larger items that require additional postage, the cost to return them to you is $20 + exact postage.
PESTS
We have regular preventative pest control services at all of our properties and very rarely see any bugs because of this, but this is Florida, and the occasional pest (or cute gecko/anole) could find its way inside. In the unlikely event that you do see a bug, we would be happy to send pest control to retreat the property (this is part of the service we pay for), but you will not be eligible for any type of refund because of this.
OUR OTHER PROPERTIES
There are five other suites at the Crane Creek Inn that you may want to consider, should this one not be available or if you would prefer a room in the main house (Heron Room, Ibis Room, Osprey Room) that includes a large shared space and a continental breakfast.
We also own The Riverview, which is located just a few blocks away on Riverview Drive in Melbourne, north of US192. The Riverview is a two story quadplex and is a much more budget-friendly property with no pool.
Located next door to The Riverview is Riverview Cottage. This 600 sqft stand-alone house features two bedrooms, one bathroom, a full kitchen, a screened front porch, and a laundry room. We completed fully remodeling this house in January, 2022.
Our other property is called Tranquility and is an OCEANFRONT quadplex located about halfway between downtown Melbourne Beach and Sebastian Inlet. These fully-renovated one bedroom apartments are 625 sqft each and are beautifully decorated.
