Spacious home with mountain views

Campbell Homestead features views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, including the notable peaks of Mt. Pleasant and The Priest. From the front steps or back deck, you will find views of hayfields and cattle and sheep grazing in the pastures, as well as the historic Woodson Mill, built c.1797 and still in operation. The house is a short distance from Piney River, the George Washington National Forest, Blue Ridge Parkway, and hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

The space
The house features a spacious living room with multiple seating areas, dining room, eat-in kitchen and powder room on the first floor, and four bedrooms and two full bathrooms upstairs. The back deck includes a table and chairs for outdoor dining as well as a retractable awning for shade. (The awning must be retracted in windy conditions.)

Sheep and cattle will be housed in close proximity to the yard. Do not feed or pet the livestock.

Guest access
Guests can use the entire house with the exceptions of the basement and first floor den.

Other things to note
The house is located close to the Nelson151 corridor with many local breweries, distilleries, cideries, and meadery. Wintergreen Resort is a short drive away for year-round activities. The Virginia Blue Ridge Railway Trail's Piney River Trailhead is nearby for walking or biking. Three lakes are located within 10 minutes for fishing, swimming, or a playground. Several orchards are located nearby for pick-your-own strawberries, peaches, apples, and more. Priestview Hunting Preserve is a short drive away for bird hunting.

Hiking opportunities abound with trails on Mt. Pleasant, the Appalachian Trail, and Crabtree Falls a short drive away.

Multiple colleges and universities are within an hour's drive, including Sweet Briar College, Liberty University, University of Lynchburg, Washington & Lee University, Virginia Military Institute, University of Virginia, and Mary Baldwin University.

Historic sites such as Monticello, Highland, Michie Tavern, Poplar Forest, and the National D-Day Memorial are within an hour's drive.

Please note that we may access the driveway early in the morning or late at night (seasonally) to feed or check on our livestock.

My husband and I and our two sons operate a family farm raising cattle and sheep. My husband and sons are the third and fourth generations on the farm! We hope our guests enjoy the opportunity to stay on a working farm and take home lasting memories of their time here.
