Posada Bosque Encantado is a peaceful garden guesthouse in central San Marcos La Laguna, rooted in Mayan tradition. Built with adobe, stone, and local wood, the space reflects ancestral building practices with modern comfort. Steps from the lake, yoga, cafés, and the nature reserve, it offers a quiet, authentic stay immersed in local culture and nature.

The space
Posada Bosque Encantado is a peaceful retreat set within lush tropical gardens. The property features three private guest rooms, a lush garden, a deck, and a kitchen. On a separate part of the land, a local Mayan family lives and operates a small ceremonial cacao processing facility, offering guests a glimpse into cultural traditions, without impacting the privacy or calm of your stay.

Your room is a handcrafted adobe space, built with locally sourced wood, stone, and adobe to create a naturally cool, quiet, and inviting atmosphere. Windows from Antigua and custom Nahuala doors honor traditional craftsmanship and sustainable practices.

The large room offers comfortable beds with cotton sheets, a private bathroom with reliable hot water, clay filters providing clean drinking water.

The room is designed to help you slow down, connect with nature, and feel truly at home with thoughtful, unique design that supports rest, creativity, and grounding.

Guest access
Guests enjoy access to their private room and private bathroom. You are also welcome to relax in our lush tropical gardens, which include a covered patio, perfect for reading, journaling, enjoying a meal, or unwinding in the evenings.

You’ll also have access to the communal kitchen, outdoor seating and lounging areas, shared garden spaces surrounded by nature

The property is also home to Ruk’u’x Ulew (Heart of the Earth), where ceremonial cacao is processed, contributing to the grounding, intentional energy of the space.

I am a youthful woman in her 70’s who has lived 30 years in San marcos La Laguna. I am a singer songwriter, and play guitar and flute. I have a three room Inn in San Marcos which is a small Mayan village on the shores of Lake Atitlan. I am happy to share music. I am fluent in Spanish. The village I live in has integrated a new age community of foreigners. I enjoy meeting new people, and I am sure you will enjoy meeting me!
