Perched high on a hill, our cabin style home is located in a safe neighborhood overlooking downtown Ketchikan, but away from the City noise. We offer 2 private bedrooms, the Black Bear Room and the Deer Room (separate Airbnb listings), each with their own private bathroom. The kitchen, living room, dining area, laundry, outside decks & offstreet parking are shared with hosts & other guests. The view from the deck is breath-taking & the location is central to all that Ketchikan has to offer.

The space
Our home offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of downtown. We may well be home during your stay but are laid back and will treat you like family (in the good way). We will send you instructions on how to access the house plus detailed directions in case we are out and about. We have high-speed symmetrical internet, so if you have online work to do, this is a great location! Please be advised that there may be other Airbnb guests onsite, and the hosts may be at home. We use "All Clear" laundry detergent on our linens. Please note: there are two reservation options: regular nightly price with a moderate cancellation policy and a discounted nightly price with no refunds if canceled. If you choose the discounted option, please understand that there will be no refund if you cancel, no exceptions.

Guest access
The bedroom and en-suite bathroom is private and has a secure lock on the door. Each room has a Roku smart TV for your viewing pleasure. The living area, dining area, kitchen, laundry, outside patios, and parking area are all shared with other Airbnb guests and the hosts. Please feel free to make yourself at home. There are marked parking spaces adjacent to the house, and using them will make things easier for everyone. We offer hi-speed Wi-Fi access to make remote work hassle free.

During your stay
One of us should be around most days, but if not, we'll be available to answer any questions you may have via the Airbnb message system. There is a binder in each bedroom, which will answer most of your questions about the house and the area, including the Wi-Fi password. There are restaurant recommendations in the binder as well. We'd love to meet you during your stay and help you with ideas of activities in the area.

Other things to note
Airbnb takes a 15.5% booking fee and the Ketchikan Gateway Borough (KGB) requires a 19% short term rental tax on all reservations. These fees and taxes are already built into your nightly rate and will not be added to your bill like the hotels do.

Our home is not set up for infants or young children. If you are travelling with children, please choose another lodging option, for your children's safety.

Please be aware that we do have two medium-sized, non-shedding dogs in the house. They are very friendly but are not allowed in the guest rooms, and are not allowed to be fed any human food. A puppy-gate is provided for your convenience to keep them out of your room.

Please be aware that we regularly have wild black bears transiting the yard. Please ensure there is no food or trash left unattended in your car or outdoors as this can start bad habits with the bears.

Smoking is allowed on the property but must be done outside and away from any buildings. This applies to all forms of smoking and vaping. There is a special can for the cigarette butts outside. Please ask if you don't see it.

Neighborhood highlights

We are centrally located with easy access to the Public Library, the Recreation Center which offers a gym, cardio equipment, swimming pool, basketball courts, fitness classes and yoga, as well as the popular downtown and Historical Creek Street with numerous restaurants and bars. We are in a quiet, safe, and family-orientated neighborhood. The bus stop is just a few minutes' walk from our house and cabs are always available. We also have a silver Chevrolet Equinox available to rent on Turo.
