Mountain view

Guests say the views are lovely.
The Berghüttli ("little mountain hut") is a Swiss-inspired hut and farm stay surrounded by National Forest in Goshen, VT (pop. 168). A completely private escape—no other structures in sight, just woods and quiet. Inside, a wall of windows brings the forest right up to you, while glowing maple plywood fills the space with warm light. High-speed fiber internet runs a reliable 300 Mbps. Stay connected or switch off completely. Search "The Berghüttli" on YouTube for a video tour.

The space
Step inside and the whole hut glows. Walls of warm maple plywood wrap the space in soft golden light, and a wall of windows pulls the surrounding forest right up to you.

The Berghüttli is a two-bedroom tiny house, thoughtfully built so its small footprint never feels cramped. The first-floor bedroom has a full bed and a sliding door for privacy. Up the ladder, a cozy loft holds a king bed tucked beneath the eaves—the kind of spot that makes you want to sleep in.

The compact kitchen comes with a refrigerator and two-burner induction cooktop, and the full bathroom features a beautiful custom-tiled shower. High-speed fiber internet keeps you connected whenever you want to be.

Guest access
You'll have the entire cabin to yourself, plus the outdoor space that makes a woods stay worth it: a screened-in porch for bug-free mornings and evenings, a firepit for cool nights under the trees, and a grill for cooking out. No other houses or structures are visible from the property—just forest in every direction.

Other things to note
You're truly in the woods—and that's the whole point. It means nature is always close: sip your coffee while deer wander past at dawn, watch for birds and the occasional family of wild turkeys from the picture window, and catch animals moving through the trees. Living in the forest also means the forest lives here too—we clear cobwebs from the porch and exterior at every cleaning, but out here they happily return between stays. A small, charming reminder that you've got the woods all to yourself.

A few practical things worth knowing before you book:

Internet: The Berghüttli is outfitted with high-speed fiber internet that regularly runs at 300 Mbps. Because of the remote setting, cell service is limited—but the fast connection makes WiFi calling and texting easy.

EV charging: A Level 2 EV charger is installed on-site and is free for guests to use.

Kitchen: The kitchen is compact and designed for simple cooking—it includes a refrigerator and induction cooktop, but no freezer or oven. Out on the patio, a gas grill gives you a little more room to cook. Just worth planning your meals around.

Coffee & tea: Mornings are easy here. You'll find an electric kettle and a pour-over with Chemex filters, local coffee grounds to start, plus Chamberlain Coffee instant bags for a quicker cup—and a wide selection of Rishi teas for tea drinkers.

Winter stays: Our driveway is steep and can get slick. Winter guests should plan to have AWD/4WD and/or snow tires. No winter-ready vehicle? You're welcome to park at our sugarhouse and walk up to the cabin (about 800 feet uphill).

Heating & cooling: A cozy wood stove keeps things warm and snug in the colder months. There's no air conditioning—and up here in the mountains, you rarely need it. Summer temperatures generally run 5–10° cooler than down in the valley, and the nights stay comfortably crisp for sleeping. A box fan is available on request for warmer days.

Bedding: Both beds have Avocado organic mattresses, down pillows, and European-style down duvets with organic cotton duvet covers. In the European tradition, we skip the flat top sheet—just a duvet with a clean, washable cover.
