The Beach Box is a charming 2 bdrm, 1 bath, original beach cottage located just a quick walk from the ocean. Enjoy the best of OBX in this adorable beach cottage featuring a large fenced in yard, quiet residential neighborhood, and great location. Enjoy many local attractions (including- Avalon fishing pier, Wright Brother's Memorial, movie theater, and countless more). Walking distance to many restaurants, bars and shopping! Beachbox sleeps 4 comfortably.

The space
This super cute A-frame was built in the 1960's and boasts all the adorable beach cottage features such as front and back porches, large outdoor shower, fully fenced in yard, fire pit, picnic table, outdoor furniture, hammock, charcoal grill (please bring your own charcoal) and very close location to one of the most famous beaches! The ocean is only a short 0.1 mile safe walk. Not the out doorsey person of the group? Enjoy lots of natural light, a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom, wifi, 2 smart TVs, and an array of games/movies (board games, DVDS). Feeling hungry? Want to grab drinks? Walk to numerous restaurants, bars, the movie theater, shopping and more!

You will find a notebook in the living room full of menus from our favorite restaurants and brochures from tourist destinations.

If you are looking to explore the area checkout the aquarium in Manteo, take an airplane or helicopter ride at the local airport, enjoy the views from and tour Bodie island lighthouse, take a ferry to Ocracoke for the day, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, climb Currituck lighthouse, learn how to hang glide at Jockeys Ridge State Park, hike the trails at Nags Head Woods, tour the Whalehead Club, see the wild horses of Corolla, or just sit back and relax.

In the winter time we highly recommend the world famous Pea Island for bird watchers!

Guests have full access to the property with the exception of three very small storage spaces that are locked and the outdoor shed.

Other things to note
The house is equipped with a new minisplit AC/heat unit installed Sept 2021. The unit is controlled with a thermostat. The downstairs bedroom has a remote controlled window unit (installed Sept 2021) that provides both AC and heat to use if needed. There is also a new (2022) ceiling fan with light in the downstairs bedroom. The upstairs bedroom also has a portable AC unit to help with additional cooling as needed. This portable unit is also controlled with a remote. Need additional heating in the winter? Enjoy the gas logs (winter only) located downstairs in the main living area.

The Beach Box has a combo washer/dryer available when needed. It is a small unit, so recommended only when truly needed. Please read the provided manual before using and use the correct concentrated laundry detergent and fabric softener (provided).

The staircase is a cross between a loft ladder and a staircase. Please see photo for reference. Not recommended for small children or those with limited mobility.

The indoor shower is small. There is no bathtub. Luckily, there is a great and very spacious outdoor shower.

The couch in the living room is a futon. The house is designed for mostly outdoor living.
