SPACE DESIGN
Set on five spacious city lots, Bayview Cottage combines Northwoods charm with thoughtful modern touches. Inside, you’ll find high vaulted ceilings, knotty pine walls, and generous natural light across two floors. Ideal for families, couples, or groups, the home comfortably sleeps up to 7 guests and includes a fully stocked kitchen, reading nook, playroom, and plenty of gathering space.

LIVING AREA
Step into the warm and inviting front living room, where plush chairs, a cozy couch and fireplace offer the perfect spot for morning coffee or conversation. Continue through the handcrafted dining area, seating eight with beautiful bay views, before reaching the fully equipped kitchen. Adjacent to the kitchen, the cozy bay room awaits, featuring a gas fireplace, Smart TV, and additional seating for relaxed evenings in. Around the corner, discover the den, a quiet nook filled with books and local charm, ideal for curling up with a good read.

MAIN FLOOR BEDROOM
The main-level king bedroom is a restful retreat with direct access to both bathrooms. Soft lighting, premium linens, and ample closet space complete the experience.

UPSTAIRS BEDROOMS
Upstairs, two queen bedrooms offer tranquil sleeping spaces with vaulted ceilings and Northwoods-inspired décor. Both are outfitted with cozy bedding and dressers for a longer stay.

PLAYROOM
A hidden gem for guests of all ages, this upstairs playroom is filled with games, books, toys, and creative fun. Kids love it, and adults do too!

KITCHEN & DINING
The full kitchen comes stocked with essentials and boasts incredible bay views. Brew your morning coffee, prep a picnic for the beach, or cook a full dinner with ease. Everything you need is right here, including complimentary coffee and spices.

BATHROOMS
Two full bathrooms are stocked with soft towels, luxury toiletries, and essentials for a comfortable stay. Both bathrooms are located on the main level.

OUTDOOR OASIS
Enjoy your morning on the deck or wind down on the hammocks or double swing. Your private dock & beach is ready for water adventures (when in season) with complimentary use of a canoe, kayak, fishing gear, bikes, and snowshoes during the winter. The backyard is perfect for yard games or stargazing.

Is the beach really that close?
Yes! Lake Superior’s beach is right across the street, and Superior Bay is directly in the backyard with a private dock.

What is the “bridging” situation?
The Aerial Lift Bridge goes up roughly every 30 minutes in the summer. Plan extra time if you’re driving into Canal Park. We recommend downloading the MarineTraffic or HarborLookout app to check bridge and ship schedules.

Are pets allowed?
Yes, one well-behaved dog per stay. There's a $125 fee. We provide essentials like bowls, towels, and waste bags. Please bring a crate if your pup will be left alone.

Is the dock available all year?
The dock is typically available mid-May through October, depending on weather. Kayak, canoe, paddles, life jackets, bikes, snowshoes and ice skates are included during your stay depending on the season!

Is there air conditioning?
Yes, we provide AC during the summer months (typically June–September), plus ceiling fans in most rooms.

Can we have guests over?
Our max capacity is 7 overnight guests. You're welcome to have visitors during the day, but please be respectful of quiet hours and neighborhood norms.

What’s the snow removal policy?
We activate snow removal after 2” of accumulation. Please allow up to 12 hours for plowing and shoveling during snow events.

Is there Wi-Fi and a smart TV?
Yes, we offer high-speed Wi-Fi and smart TV’s with streaming options. Bring your logins!

Guest access
Guests have full access to the home, yard, private dock, and beachfront. Please note the basement, garages, and sheds are off-limits. Parking includes three private spots and available street parking, watch for alternate side parking signs.

A couple miles down the point from the cottage you’ll find a large recreation area and beach with a lifeguard on duty during the summer season, Park Point Beach House, playground, sand volleyball courts, a pavilion with grills, and a small airport.

Minnesota Point Walking Trail - 2.4 miles
At the airport, the secluded Minnesota Point Walking Trail begins and runs parallel to the lone runway. The trail then meanders all the way to the tip of the peninsula, passing 200 year-old red and white pines along the way. You can take the same trail back or do what we like to do and take the beach route. The question is....do you choose the bay or the lake side?!

Hello! I'm Mia, the designer/manager/host of this magical lake home, and Steve is the owner and maintenance crew :). We enjoy welcoming guests by sharing our knowledge and experiences of Park Point and the surrounding areas! Steve is a 3rd generation Park Pointer. While Steve’s “real job” is as a wholesales plumbing salesman, he also owns the South Pier Inn Hotel on Park Point with his family. Fun fact: Steve owns the South Pier Lighthouse on Park Point as well - want a private tour? Ask us about it! All the fun and intricate artwork you see around the property and cottage was handcrafted by Steve. Oh, and let’s not forget his photography that is displayed around the house. Follow Steve Sola on FB for local photos and videos to see what’s going on in Duluth and Park Point! Mia’s background is in education from teaching second graders in New York to working in the Medical School at University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in Continuing Education. Mia loves everything outdoors and takes great pleasure in hosting family & friends, boating, traveling, spending time on our sailboat in Bayfield, biking/hiking, exploring, gardening, and working with Steve on home renovations and projects. Mia & Steve live next door to Bayview Cottage and love to share this serene oasis with the world.
