Antelux North and South wings combined! An exclusive apartment located in the same building as our famous Window to the Duomo.
This 100m2 boutique space is in the oldest part of this historical building from the 1200’s, with original frescoes, Italian antiques, crystal chandeliers & custom-made handcrafted furniture.
It features 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, a Tuscan kitchen and dining room, living room, and a GORGEOUS BALCONY connecting the master bedroom with the living room.
The space
An apartment with a soul.
During its transformation into Antelux, our main objective was to preserve and maintain the history and uniqueness of this historical property. We wanted to respect its past and keep as many elements as possible, as well as bringing to light its history and centuries-old features that had been covered up through the years.
The renovations were ran by our design studio, Ardium, by artist and owner Danella Lucioni. We took special efforts to uncover and restore the frescoes, serene stone, and ancient bricks we found hidden under the walls and ceiling for centuries that we accidentally discovered and always made sure to preserve during restoration.
The interiors are a mix of contemporary pieces with original elements.
History and art meets elegance.
Every room is designed by Danella, featuring unique pieces done by her and local Florentine artisans, elegant Italian antiques dating back to the 1800’s (picked up from all over Italy and restored at Ardium Studio).
You will also find furniture and doors handcrafted by Danella with the 400+ years old ancient materials salvaged from the renovations, as well as tables, counters and other handmade pieces created by Ardium with materials sourced from local olive wood farms and marble quarries.
The balcony was added to the building in the 1700's, and is the only residential balcony in the city center with an unobstructed view the entire front façade of the Florence Cathedral & the Cupola.
The meaning of Antelux, you ask?
Ante · Lux: [Latin] “before the light”
A project of love for art and Florence, it started in February 2020 and carried out during the uncertain period of lockdowns and the pandemic. 2 years (and many struggles) later, we now finally see the light.
Welcome back to Firenze!
Note: The apartment launched in 2022, it is always ongoing interior design improvements. The furniture will change slightly as we acquire and place different antiques we are constantly restoring.
Want a smaller space?
The Antelux North and South wings can be divided by a 42db soundproof flush-to-wall door that is locked when each apartments is rented separately. Each apartment has two bedrooms and sleeps up to 4 people each.

A little bit of history:
What is now Antelux, used to be a doctor studio spawning 4 generations of dentists dating back to the 1800's. Before that, it belonged to a Florentine marquis noble family in the 1700's. The Art Guild of Mercatanti had the building before them, having adapted the building from what it used to be before the Renaissance, when the Opera di San Giovanni and the Cathedral owned the building and ran a hospital there since at least the 1200's - all through Dante's time and the Black Plague.
