The Alberta Petite Hotel is a very nice relaxing house in a perfect walkable location on Alberta St and 24th with galleries, local shops, restaurants and entertainment.
This quaint space is a private daylight basement with its own external entrance, living area with TV, bathroom, dining area and kitchenette. Enjoy the outdoor sitting spaces for relaxing and people watching. One parking space.

The space
The Alberta Petite Hotel is the perfect house for family and friends! This rental is our Lower House (aka Maple Suite) and is the smaller of the two spaces we rent. You can also rent the other larger space or the Whole House.

You can rent the Whole House (see Airbnb listing named albertapetitehotel-5-bedroom-wholehouse). Renting the Whole House makes it a 5-bedroom, 3.5 bathroom gathering space for a larger family or group.

Full disclosure: This is a terrific space and nice ambiance with it's own entrance, but it is a basement unit and it does have some lower spots in the ceiling. Additionally, noise can travel down the stairs from the upstairs unit. We are working to mitigate these issues, but until then, we want guests to be aware.

Bedrooms: This space offers 2 private bedrooms (one that has a door and the other that is separated from the living space by a beautiful wood faux wall and curtains). Each bed is queen-sized with luxurious linens. We also have a pull-out couch for two extra people (extra charges if more than 4 people). No more than 6 guests can rent at one time. Bedrooms feature sustainable wood shelving, convenient USB ports and outlets on bedside tables, fast WIFI and keyless private entries to each room.

Bathrooms: There is one full bathroom shared by the two bedrooms.

Kitchenette: On this lower level you'll find a fully functional kitchenette with sink, mini-fridge, portable induction cooktop (only magnetic pots/pans can be used on it), toaster, microwave and coffee and tea bar.

Other spaces: You'll have a sitting area with pull-out couch and chairs, a TV and a small dining table.

Laundry: There is no onsite laundry for this space.

Outdoor spaces: There is an amazing porch and several lovely outdoor seating areas to enjoy the sun, get takeout from a local restaurant or just hang out and people watch. There is a small gated outdoor space where this unit's entrance is located.

Our little hotel provides a local and sustainable experience operated by long-time Portland residents. We've been intentional in every detail to make it a comfortable and inviting space. We love Portland, the area and this house and we want to share it all with others.

Guest access
Your stay gets you a beautiful and private suite with private keyless access, outdoor spaces and is very walkable and accessible to Portland sights. There are easy transit options, two parking spaces and plenty of on-street parking. We have bike storage and there is also a bike share station directly across from the house. There are two spaces to hang bikes indoors and a secure shed outside.

LAST MINUTE RESERVATIONS/MINIMUM STAYS:
At times we have the ability to accommodate last minute reservations. Feel free to message us to inquire if we have availability. Additionally, sometimes, but not always, we can accommodate shorter stays than our minimum shows. Feel free to ask us.

COVID:
We take every precaution we can to minimize risks of covid exposure. If you test positive to covid prior to your visit, we ask that you cancel your reservation. We will make accommodations for a refund if you show us proof of a positive test result. Our house cleaning staff and other non-guests entering the house are fully vaccinated. We prefer that our guests, if able to be, are also fully vaccinated and we hope everyone is taking covid precautions seriously. If anyone in your party has any symptoms at all and tests positive during or immediately following your stay, we ask that you notify us immediately.

Mid-Stay House Cleaning:
If you are booking a stay that is 7 days or longer, we do require a mid-stay cleaning. Mid-stay cleanings will consist of changing bed linens, changing out towels and basic cleaning of the main spaces, bathrooms and kitchen. You can request the house cleaner focus on a certain area or not to touch certain items. The cost of this cleaning is is dependent on the cleanliness of the house and will be added on as an additional expense during or after your stay. The cost is $30 per hour and the cleaning will take anywhere between 2 and 4 hours. We request that guests vacate the premises during this cleaning to reduce covid-exposures. Our house cleaner will wear a mask during the cleaning.

Pets:
Well-behaved dogs only are allowed. If you bring a pet into the house, you must indicate it in your reservation and pay the extra pet fee. We will have to assess a fine of $500 if we find out there is a pet that we do not know about. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Please ensure they will not bark or destroy furniture in the house if you leave. Please clean any excess dog hair yourselves. Any damage will be assessed and charged to the rental guest.

Inclusivity:
As everywhere should be, we are 100% inclusive and welcoming of all guests of all shapes, sizes, colors, cultures, sexual orientations and gender identities, including people with varying disabilities. However, unfortunately and because of the age of the house, we do not have access for wheelchairs or people with very limited mobility who can't navigate stairs. You will also find that the Alberta Arts/NE Portland neighborhood, in general, is very welcoming.

Events:
Want to host a cooking or other classes, craft party, yoga retreat, board meeting, reading group, sewing circle, etc? This doesn't apply to this space alone, but if you wanted to rent the whole house, we welcome small event gatherings (prices vary depending). This is the perfect space for meetings, small weddings, local experiences, etc. There are indoor and outdoor spaces for breakout groups or other individual needs. There are also spaces for tents outdoors. Robin and Brian love to stay in unique, small and interesting lodging facilities where they meet people from all over the world and learn about local cultures. And frankly, they would travel a lot more given the opportunity. So they decided..."why not bring the 'travel' to us?" They wanted to create a cool space where people experience that same 'travel adventure' feeling right here in Portland. So they took the plunge and found a house they could convert, in one of the hippest neighborhoods in Portland - The Alberta Arts District, where there is an abundance of amazing restaurants, cool shops, food carts, a theater, bike shops, coffee houses and so much to offer tourists. An important part of their vision was to create a fun, warm, comfortable, safe and open space for people from all walks of life - for women, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, immigrant populations, international travelers, etc. Additionally, the well-being of the planet was extremely important to them when creating the space. Therefore, a lot of time, effort and resources went into making this business as sustainable and environmentally-responsible as possible. That means they worked very hard to make sure the materials, furnishings and products that were purchased were top-quality, reused or salvaged when possible, organically grown, sustainably-sourced, made by local people, etc. Another aspect they are focusing on is to showcase Portland by utilizing Portland artisans and sustainable Portland-created products.
