The space
The Castle Kearan Guest House is a modern, private retreat tucked behind our ranch-style home. Step through the sliding glass door and into a clean cozy contemporary living space that feels like a home, not a hotel.
A quick note about the kitchenette:
Like many hotel and motel rooms our efficiency kitchenette does NOT have a kitchen sink. (There is a bathroom sink) We do provide a 5-gallon hot/cold water dispenser for drinking, coffee and other needs, and guests are not expected to wash dishes—we take care of that for you. Most of us have managed just fine in hotel rooms without a kitchen sink, and we’ve set up the space to make your stay just as easy and convenient.

The kitchenette is well-equipped for easy living — mini fridge, microwave, hotplate, toaster, toaster oven, and a Keurig coffee maker an auto drip coffee maker & a perculator coffee pot. A water dispenser keeps you hydrated and dispenses both cold and hot water. With a little creativity, you can cook pretty much anything. Put all dirty dishes glasses mugs in the basket on the chair. If it gets full during your stay, send us a note, put it out on the deck and we'll take care of it. Any appliances you use that are in the cabinets, leave them out so they can get a proper cleaning & wipe down.
The private bedroom offers a restful night's sleep, in a queen sized adjustable base bed. The 3/4 bathroom with shower (no tub) is clean and well-stocked. High-speed WiFi, a Smart TV with Roku, and central Heat & Air keep you comfortable year-round.
The covered deck has a fire table & a tapestry with a scenic landscape of a castle in Scottish Highlands. One of the best features — perfect for morning coffee or evening wind-down. It's your space, enjoy it.
You're minutes from great dining, Mid Rivers Mall, and easy highway access into downtown St. Louis. Historic Old Town St. Charles — with its charming Main Street, restaurants, and riverfront views — is just a short drive away. Several concert venues are also reasonably close.
Outdoor enthusiasts will love the proximity to the Katy Trail and Missouri's incredible trail systems.

Guest access
Your only shared space is the driveway and parking area. Please park past the white line, near the stairs. Everything else is yours.
Your private entrance is up a set of stairs (7 steps) to a covered deck and straight through the sliding glass door into your living space. You come and go completely on your own terms.
One thing worth knowing — the deck continues past the main house back door and connects to the backyard, which is the relief area for our Great Dane, Zara. There is a gate between our decks so she wont be a bother. One incredible rare trait she has is she does not bark. She's a sweetheart with people and will likely want to say hello, but she can be a little uncertain around other pets. If you're traveling with a service animal (no pets, please), just give us a heads up ahead of time.
The castle sits high atop the giant storage room also known as the garage. (Which we dont park in) Our sleeping quarters are on the opposite end of the house so if the urge strikes to do jumping jacks, practice your victory dance or reenact a medieval battle "inside the unit" at 3:00 a.m. go right ahead - we won't hear a thing.

Other things to note
For everyone’s safety, exterior security cameras monitor the driveway, deck and entrances. There are no cameras inside the guest suite or facing into it. Cameras are for the protection and security of both our guests and our home.
Any visitor who remains overnight is considered an additional guest and must be added to the reservation and is subject to the $25/night additional-guest fee.
